SOURCE- https://www.gatechecked.com/- LIAT (2020) Limited, branded as LIAT20, has introduced its first ATR turboprop to its fleet.

V2-LIG, an almost 11-year-old ATR 42-600, first entered commercial service under the previous iteration of LIAT in March 2014. Following the liquidation of LIAT (1974) Limited, the aircraft was parked for the latter part of the pandemic, before being transferred to LIAT20 in November 2024.

“Introducing the ATR 42-600! A new chapter in air travel begins with this innovative aircraft, crafted to offer you unparalleled comfort, cutting-edge technology, and smooth, efficient flights. With every mile flown, we’re more committed than ever to delivering the ultimate travel experience. Let the skies be your playground, as we take you on new journeys, with comfort at the heart of every flight.”

Here is video of LIAT20’s ATR 42-600 sporting its new livery at Douglas-Charles Airport in Dominica.

LIAT (2020) Limited is a joint venture between the government of Antigua and Barbuda and Nigerian passenger carrier Air Peace. Antigua has a 30% stake, while Air Peace holds the remaining 70%. The new carrier was formed after the pandemic dealt the final blow to LIAT (1974) Limited.

LIAT20’s inaugural flight took place on August 6, 2024 from Antigua to Castries in St. Lucia. Prior to this latest acquisition, the airline has utilized two Embraer E145 jets leased from Air Peace, dramatically expanding its Caribbean footprint over the last few months.

With hubs in Antigua and St. Vincent, the carrier flies to a number of destinations including Barbados, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, St. Kitts, St. Maarten and St Lucia. They are also scheduled to begin service to Trinidad in the later part of December 2024.

LIAT20 is expected to take delivery of two additional ATR 42-600s, both of which operated under LIAT (1974) Limited as V2-LID and V2-LIF. They are currently parked at V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua undergoing the necessary maintenance and certification works.

LIAT20 is a drain on the Treasury and will NEVER, break-even or make a profit. World Boss is just trying to show off his cabinet can run an airline. The new staff and management will suffer. When the questionable political management style clashes with the operations of an airline you will suffer.

Wasn’t it just the other day when the article came out about the corruption charges of the Air Peace CEO, that this government start back peddling when many warned that this Airline will be seized when the US seize this corrupt Nigerians assets?

Didn’t the article states that Lait 2020 is exclusively owned by the Antigua government and it’s Caribbean partners?

@Less we forget. Gatson Browne must be paying you a serious amount of pennies for your level of spin-artistry.

Oh my, the tangle web we weave. 😂. But keep talking, because a lie can only be a lie, it cannot be the truth.

  3. Some of our caribbean people are so negative.
We are witnessing the don’t care attitude of the other airline and still not trying to support Liat20.
