Captain Cosmas Phillip retires after 38 years with LIAT

22

Today LIAT salutes one of its esteemed captains.

Captain Phillip has served LIAT (1974) Ltd. as a pilot for thirty eight years and 11 months.

He will complete his last flight LI 392 today.

Captain Phillip is known for his infections smile, dedication to his job and most of all friendliness to staff and passengers alike.

There are many fond memories of Capt. Phillips and a few stories as well.

As he commands his last LIAT flight, we wish him all the best in his retirement.

Thank You Captain Cosmas Phillip!

  1. I pray the esteemed Captain will receive ALL his due benefits and not be left in the lurch like most of his former comrades in flight.
I also hope that he will get to receive any Social Security payments in a timely fashion.
It is hard, after persons would have toiled in the vineyard for so long, having made their due contributions, it is hard to see them struggle to get their due pensions. Up to now, August remunerations have not been forthcoming and no word on when these people, some of whom depend on that for their very survival, can look forward to collection. Even with the loan Government took out, pensioners, one of our most vulnerable set of citizens, pensioners, are still not being paid two months in a row.

  2. Congrats Cos, hope you enjoy the time off, wishing you all the very best. I enjoyed flying with you back in the day when I was at LIAT.

Your father was a great man and you followed in his footsteps.

  3. 38 years at LIAT and the incompetent Management still can’t spell his name right!!! A pity this esteemed gentleman and aviator had to work the last 6 months virtually without salary as the Administrator refuses to pay the remaining employees their money or the hundreds of terminated their severance!!! Happy retirement Cosmos!!!

  4. Happy retirement Cos!! As I used to call you , you are beautiful inside and out ! I saw someone trying to ask how you pass your medical , and I have the answer to that rude person , you passed because of competency of flying !! And although you might show a little weigh on , you were obviously healthy than most ! You deserve to enjoy life sitting pretty ! Love from me and my family !! Was a pleasure seeing you command the skies !

  5. @ First .🤔 Lol WHEN YOU’RE ON THE FLIGHT WITH YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS AND BOTH ENGINES FAIL AND EVERYTHING HE LEARNED IN 38 YEARS COMES DOWN TO 30 SECONDS OF DECISIVE DECISIONS.
UNBUCKLE YOUR SEATBELT AND GO TO THE COCKPIT AND ASK HIM ABOUT THE FIRST CLASS MEDICAL 🤕 . AND I DON’T KNOW EVEN KNOW THE MAN BUT YOU SOUND LIKE AN ASS .

  6. Seems to me, the better question is: when this man keels over dead from a massive coronary, and the plane is plunging towards the ocean, what ya gonna do? Wonder which genius medical examiner in Antigua kept giving him a first class medical! Was it the Governor General?

  7. Why are you hiding behind “wow” name ? Sounds like the Jay-z and Kanye west song To me , “ you ain’t customed to going through customs , you ain’t been nowhere, huh ? “ . first class license even in the US , once your ailments , if one have any is well controlled with medication ,will be given . So said , go get some trips and flying miles ! Two pilots fly most planes , if you so worried about one getting sick, sounds like you need a trip ! Captain Phillips has loads of pictures and memories and 38 years of taking you or your family safe ! Go buy a ticket and fly the friendly skies ! You nerd some exposure

  8. Congratulations to to my dear friend, a career well done and service professionally well executed with great respect and loyalty, now kick back relax and enjoy the rest of your life, may God bless you with what ever you want to do, be safe and healthy, congratulations.

  9. Congratulations to my friend and colleague. We joined liat just about the same time and rallied through all the trials and turmoil. Some of us who joined together did not make this whole trip. You finished the course. A job very well done. Enjoy the fruits of your labor now.

  10. I find it amazing that this pilot worked for so many years keeping LIAT safety operations in check. I wish the captain a happy retirement moving forward. You will always find negative people on posts and I don’t know why they don’t keep their opinions to themselves. They seem to always judge the book by the cover.

  11. Capt. Cos maybe fat, but he can diet. WoW is ugly and can do nothing about THAT! Congrats Capt. Phillip! Job well done for which all good people’s gratitude…. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement!
