LIAT 2020’s CEO, Hafsah Abdulsalam, officially announced that St. Vincent and the Grenadines will become the airline’s new southern Caribbean hub.

The announcement was made over the weekend during a ceremony to celebrate LIAT’s inaugural flight to the island.

“We have carefully considered St. Vincent as a vital strategic hub in our operations,” Abdulsalam stated, emphasizing the importance of the new base to LIAT’s plans for expanding its network.

Abdulsalam highlighted the support from St. Vincent’s Prime Minister, cabinet members, and airport authorities as key factors in making the island the natural choice for the new hub.

“At every step in our quest to expand further south, we have been met with support,” she remarked.

In addition to regular flights, LIAT 2020 plans to establish the new hub to serve not only passengers but also businesses, cargo, students, and families.

Abdulsalam stated that this expansion is part of the airline’s broader plan to create a stronger inter-regional travel network, making St. Vincent a key part of LIAT’s growth in the southern Caribbean.

“We hope to serve the people of the Caribbean for the long term,” Abdulsalam concluded, encouraging continued support for the airline as it establishes its new base in St. Vincent.

  1. LIAT needs to fly to the US Virgin Islands especially round trips from St Lucia to St Thomas and back. We are tired of going to overnight in Miami and the following day, fly to StLucia or St Thomas.
