Opposition MP Richard S. Lewis has called for an independent investigation into what Prime Minister Gaston Browne recently described as “systemic corruption” in Antigua and Barbuda, warning that graft is eroding the country’s integrity and development.
Lewis said corruption “undermines the integrity of a nation and stymies development,” adding that those involved are “dishonest, deceitful, and rotten,” while anyone who turns a blind eye is equally culpable.
He urged the government to act decisively through effective legislation and enforcement, stressing that corruption should never be normalized.
“All those who are involved in the Vehiclegate scandal and other corrupt practices must give account,” Lewis said. “Let the independent investigation begin and let the chips fall where they may.”

oh shut up and sit down!!!! You are the political equivalent of a “waste man” in the eyes of Man Cow. She has no use for you, but you endure the abuse like a good little puppy lap dog
I’m so glad that the Honourable Richard Lewis is commenting on this open fraud and corruption. Richard will definitely leave no stone unturned.
His pursuant of this misuse of taxpayers money must be tackled from bottom to top and vice versa. I bet this uncontrolled tax evasion has been going on for years, if not decades.
No wonder the taxpaying citizens of Antigua & Barbuda witnessed the utter neglect of this great country. What a damn shame!
The dilapidation, disrepair and deterioration all makes sense now …
Take them to task Mr Lewis.
I cannot make head nor tail of the previous nonsensical comment to mine, but what I do know is that there’s a popular Caribbean phrase that goes:
“Ah no wantin’ tongue mek cattle can’t talk”
Translation for the ignorant and illiterate supporters of the ABLP who want corrupt practices to continue in Antigua:
“It’s sometimes wisest to keep one’s mouth shut”
