Dear editor please allow me to ask this question through your popular news site:
Why were Pearl, Johnathan and Alex refused Senate Minority Leader?
Since the announcement of Senator David Massiah as Minority Leader yesterday many friends have been voicing concerns. At first I was willing to give Mr. Massiah the benefit of the doubt even though I find it odd that someone who is not running in any constituency has been elevated over three UPP caretakers.
I expected to watch a dynamic budget presentation in the style of Harold Lovell. That would confirm why Mr. Massiah was selected ahead of people who are actually running for election. To put it bluntly I was left a bit bored by the new Minority Leader.
I am respectfully asking the Hon. Jamale Pringle or whoever in leadership recommended Mr. Massiah for answers on why three future candidates were passed over for a laid back alternative who is not seeking election. I am asking here because the current UPP leadership reacts in not the best ways towards those who voice concerns about their decisions.
Senator Pearl Quinn did not support Mr. Pringle in the convention at first. She didn’t say anything untrue. She just wasn’t a fan of his abilities to lead. She came around later and I thought the past would be the past. Is Mr. Pringle threatened by her or holding on to some resentment from the convention? Was she denied being Minority Leader because that would give her too much clout since she hopes one day to be the leader?
Senator Johnathan Joseph was appointed to the Senate since 2018. He has years of experience but was passed over. Is it because he accidentally endorsed the ALP last election? Don’t we all make mistakes?
Senator Alex Browne has always been dynamic and down to earth in his presentations with plenty fire in his belly. He always sticks to the issues the ordinary man cares about. Why not him? Is he still being considered for replacement in St Phillip North?
Our candidates will form the next government after winning the election so they should ALL be capable of leading in parliament. Why were none of these three considered good enough to be Senate Minority Leader? That is what people are asking and it’s not a good look. I don’t want to believe that Mr. Massiah was elevated simply to avoid having anyone possibly outshine the Opposition Leader. If not then what’s the reason?
People expect candidates to lead the fight and winning the government means giving the people what they want or what they expect to see which makes our party look good. Someone needs to answer for this.
Sincerely,
Bluetiful and Confused

More UPP hypocrisy on display!
Why is a degree holder elevated above Pearl “I need no degree” Quinn? Since the UPP hates tertiary education so much, opposed UWI Five Islands and thinks training is irrelevant to any position in or out of government, why not keep that same energy and put Pearl on top? Pringle and Pearl the dynamic duo! Why not?
The writer asks some obvious questions. These three are supposedly good enough to run government through our votes but not smart enough to lead in the senate?
The only conclusion we can come to is that they are unfit to govern and the UPP has proved that beyond any doubt.
I am truly confused that laboRATs who have no say in the cabal are trying to run the UPP. Why don’t you speak out against Lamming leapfroggibg so many who have been cutting cassie and being placed in the senate? Why aren’t you confused that Collin is in the senate and true laboRATs are languishing without recognition? Why aren’t you confused that Dawna has big paying government jobs and true laboRATs are hungry? Keep.out of UPP business and rescue the lanour party from the purple people.
STRAIGHT SHOOTER, when will you understand what is going on LabourRats can never change that is why Gaston will always promote UPP defectors above them. Remember RATS are always at home feeding in the gutter
