Dear Editor,
In the clash of pompous narcissists, Eli Fuller wiped the floor with Gaston Browne, again, and walked away with everything he wanted, after his appearance on Browne & Browne last Saturday.
Eli understands that all he has to do is to appear bright and massage Gaston’s ego and he will get everything he requests. Gaston is becoming a clone of Trump or maybe he was always like this but we are now noticing.
Eli is a caucasian who was born with a gold and diamond spoon in his mouth. He does not give a flying bird about indigenous or ordinary Antiguans. He is concerned about protecting his lifestyle. Don’t be fooled.
Once Gaston buckled, we never saw him again until now when he feels that Calvin Ayre’s development at Jolly Harbour will affect his lifestyle.
More concerning is the blaring fact that our PM not only can be easily played but once played he then unilaterally makes decisions with no consultations with his technical experts or his Cabinet. This is really Trumpian and is very worrying.

GB called for it and he got it!! “Only a fool breaks his own heart!!”
Here we go again. Blacks vocalising their anti-white sentiments. I only hope tourists learn what jndigeneoua Antiguans really think of Caucasians. Truth be told there are better places to go and spend their money where the people are more hospitable, don’t have a chop on their shoulders and there is value for money and culture. Keep it up Antigua. By the time you realise who pays so you can have the lifestyles you live it will be too late. But the reality is everything you have on this island that produces nothing was made possible by white people. Truth hurts. Why does Mr. Fuller have to consider black people in any of his decisions. Do they think about him or do they malign and bad talk h as so many are doing here. With these kinds of sentiments and actions it’s no wonder the jndigeneoua are being left behind. They make it very hard to care about much less include them in any planning. Stop the hate and maybe people will care about you.
Denzil Warner. Your xenophobic response is pathetic. Eli cares more about “ordinary Antiguans” (whatever that means) and the island as a whole than you and has proven that for years. That man and his family could have moved to the US or UK a long time ago and made a lot more money and lived a very different lifestyle but decided to remain in Antigua. That should tell you something.
I watched those three hours of discussions between Eli, Browne, Fernandez and others and knew that he would be brutally honest with his opinions and he pulled no punches in telling them what he thought of their current policies and those of the past governments. I saw no massaging of Browne’s ego and if you think that him writing in his notebook is a sign of him “buckling” or being “played” then you are truly clueless.
I have met Eli a few times and yes, he can talk for hours(!) and probably knows more about the ocean and environment in and around Antigua than anyone else on the island. He has been in the tourism business for decades and I can confirm the story about the Antigua and Barbuda Excursions Alliance banging their heads against a wall with the government back around 2012 or so. I heard all about that from several different boat owners back then and Lovell and another guy who’s still with the ABTA today were not spoken of fondly when it came to taking the time to arrange a meeting with the locals to discuss their concerns.
Hopefully, Browne continues to broadcast meetings such as these with other community members discussing a wide range of topics for all of us to see.
