Dear Director,
I am very much traumatized by the way your organization is treating us, the public, especially those of us who purchased lands at Paynters.
Unfortunately, your organization’s motto ” Growing to provide for you” certainly does not reflect the quality of service that you offer. Is your organization really growing and is it really providing the quality service that it should?
A few weeks ago it was so pleasing to the ears to hear that your organization is now operating in a surplus, whereby, a hotel was laid on your table to be built as a means to generate incoming revenue to your organization’s coffers.
You also indicated that payments to the pensioners are now up to date. Kudos! However, persons are still complaining about late payments for Funeral, maternity and sickness. These seems to be the main cry from the masses.
Added to the cry, persons are now complaining about monies spent for the lands at Paynters and to date, there has not been any development with the infrastructure. The lands are presently looking like a forest. Promises were made but those promises were not kept.
The delay in getting the area in order, is certainly creating a set back to those of us who purchased plots of lands. Some of us are tenants elsewhere and are desirous of constructing our own homes on our own lands in order to vacate the renting.
Please Mr. Director, the empty promises you are making, are a comfort to fools. For the past year or two, we have been fools accepting those promises the development will take place. We have had enough of those promises! We would like to enjoy the comfortable life, style, like you.
Alex

You might have quite a while to wait, when the next election is nigh things will start to happen. A friend of mine in Bolans says during the last election they started construction of a gutter and sidewalk and up to this day it has not been completed and the road it’s on is a total disaster
And we the citizens fall for this everytime
This issue has been ongoing for far too long. Pensioners deserve timely payments without all this uncertainty!
Appreciate the effort in bringing this matter to light. Hopefully, the Director responds with urgency.
I hope they listen and take swift action before more seniors are left struggling.
If changes aren’t made, younger generations will have no faith in the system when it’s their turn to collect.
How can the government justify other expenditures while Social Security struggles? and everyday somebody news is complaining … SMH
Why have a motto and you cant even stick with it?… SMH.. DO Better!!!!
You will get no comfort from the Director. PM Browne called him lazy live on the radio and yet years later he is still there and the person who called him lazy is his boss. That answers all questions. Lazy is acceptable, apparently. But he is not only lazy, he is also indifferent to the cries of the public.
The Director keeps on telling the Prime Minister that things are well and all payments are up to date. And the Prime Minister is swalling that hook line and sinker. It is as if he has somehting over the PM, for him to be so gullible to his every word. I would suggest he send his own independent auditor to get into their and bring up the truth for him. PM youbare being mislead time and time again.
Indeed, the ABSSB does need to “grow to provide” for the people of Antigua and Barbuda, and surpluses are invested to ensure the fund’s future. We continue our talks with our development partners about the development of the land at Paynters to have the necessary infrastructure in place. There have been delays, which are directly attributable to the resource challenges of our development partners. Please be assured that those resources have been buttressed by the recent investment of the GoAB and we expect that the work will be completed in the coming months.
Perhaps he is still there because he has proven himself to be the very opposite of lazy. But then again we as a people only hear what we want to hear, and never what is actually said or for that matter we see. If every public officer were as lazy as the Director we would have a better system today. Then again I am not a good judge of lazy as you obviously are.
Reply to when you don’t know.
I did not call him lazy. His boss and Prime Minister called him lazy on Pointe FM. Are you calling our respected and revered PM a liar?
I am saying that we hear what we want to hear. You heard that the director is lazy, but you didn’t hear which director he found lazy. I repeat, we hear what we want to hear, things are not perfect at social security, but it is clear to those who care to actually look that the organization continues to serve our people, that’s not laziness or malaise, its the response to challenging times.
The Money-Hawk is not been mislead at all; he’s as much involved as the other key players. The beneficiaries are been lied to while each of these scammers pretends to be dissatisfied with the performance of the other.
Gaston rather increase 40% than address these issues.
