The UPP is paralyzed by hypocrisy, bad mind and internal chaos
Dear Editor:
In a letter you published yesterday, the writer attempted to call out MPs Simon and Lewis. The writer’s selective outrage is as predictable as it is misplaced.
Instead of speculating about the absence of UPP MPs Richard Lewis and Kelvin Simon from the campaign platform, the more pertinent question is this: why did the UPP take six weeks—six entire weeks—to select a candidate and mobilize for a by-election they knew was coming?
MP Asot Michael passed away during the first week in November, and what did the UPP do?
Absolutely nothing. Gisele Isaac, the Party Chair, members of UPP Women’s Forum and other key members, jetted off to Ghana, leaving the party in limbo.
Is Isaac the only person entitled to a vacation while her party languishes in disarray? The hypocrisy within the UPP is staggering. Did anyone suggest that Gisele delay her pilgrimage?
Now, as January 14 approaches, the UPP is scrambling to lay blame for an outcome that hasn’t even materialized.
And of course, when their candidate, George Wehner, inevitably falters, the scapegoats will already be lined up: Lewis and Simon.
How convenient! The UPP would rather eat their own than face the truth—that their internal dysfunction and glaring lack of leadership are the real culprits. They were caught flat footed.
The cannibalization within the UPP ranks isn’t just pathetic; it signals a party that is constantly at war with itself.
If the UPP spent half as much energy creating a cohesive strategy, building a strong leadership and taking the fight to Gaston Browne and the ABLP, it would give supporters so much hope.
But they keep tearing down each other, while hypocrisy and self-sabotage continue to be the UPP trademarks.
Sincerely,
Fed up

Writer you are so correct. The UPP is a very delusional party with many of the supporters blinded by their so-called loyalty. Loyalty to a dysfunctional leadership? Why the hell should Richard Lewis endorse Wehner just to show some kind of party unity that does not exist. I feel really sorry for some of the so-called educated people in the UPP that seem so dumb because of their blinded loyalty. The chair recently went to Ghana and I heard Bowen (who also went to Ghana) yesterday on Dave Lester Payne saying that we are all Africans, I hope he mentioned that to Giselle Isaac. She is such an educated backward thinking woman. She ah the problem for the UPP.
“…yesterday on Dave Lester Payne saying that we are all Africans…”
You sure you heard right? Not the same people/party that HOUNDED Africans and used their plight for cheap political points leading up to the last general election
You sure bout that?
LIES:
1). Africans were flown in to vote for Labour Party
2). 4billion in the belly of the plane
3). FBI coming to get gaston browne
No wonder so much “karma”coming back to get UPP!!!
Can someone PLEASE tell the lawyer in the photo that if he is wearing a black shoe then he should be wearing a black belt and if he is wearing a brown shoe then he should be wearing a black belt. Enough said about the disarray. Like it extends to fashion sense.
This brown belt and black shoe not cutting it.
not even that he can get right. Messy and wotliss like that “mek up” story he tried to sell to the police……..but the public saw through his bs! Even the clown next to him is diistancing himself from him and hiding his face with the placard!
Nonsense writer. Don’t insult our intelligence.
The question asked about Lewis and Simon is a fair one.
Their lack of support of Wehner is as obvious as the arctic day is long. They certainly have good reasons.
The UPP has relentlessly tried to kill Richard, weakening their waning chances of holding Rural West against a young dynamic Michael Joseph.
Shugy is so hated right now that only one executive member came to his byelection anniversary celebrations. Meanwhile Dwayne George is moving through the constituency day and night building relationships and getting things done as he prepares to displace Shugy.
The UPP is a wicked self-defeating institution which destroys its own at all levels, from MPs right on down to your everyday card carrying members. No hope in UPP, no leadership and no reason for any sensible person to stay in their mess and delusion.
Correct. The CHAIRMAN BOYCOTT SHOOGY because he supported the Jamaican man instead of Pringle. She really doesn’t care for him or the Jamaican man and his family. Imagine not even his own party sincerely happy for him that he end up in Parliament. As for the snake, he is a coward!!! He use the light skin BULLy to drop wud on observer radio instead of being frank with gizzy poo and dead dog tent rental.
After Pringle was announced as the winner at the UPP Convention, George Wehner took off his shirt and ran up and down waving it. He went up to Richard Lewis with is wife and family and shouted in them face “TEK DAT IN YA NEH-NENN”
why should any human being tolerate such disrespect and then PRETEND TO SUPPORT that bellicose hog?
P.S. – has Denny’s Beach Bar been paid for the debit owed by UPP for use of its facilities and food’???
UPP reminds me of a cricketer who doesn’t possess a good defense always getting clean bowled and this is coming from a supporter
A party that doesn’t love their own will never survive Long enough, until they can unity amongst Each other in the Party…
Anything that involves a CHAOS DEMON 😈 must result in chaos!!!
Why the hell all this…. support for Richard Lewis who you minions really cared nothing ABOUT!!!! The fact is, you are disappointed that UPP that ABLP has tried so hard to kill is still around!!! Did Richard Lewis ask for your help?? I doubt it. So why are you jokers trying so hard at this??
ABLP has perhaps more problems than UPP but the difference is: when they get t’umped in the face, they keep it in doors and wear “sunshades” to hide it and give the false impression of normalcy.
Instead of all this involvement up in UPP business tell us about the ABS interview, where a person who always bowl “sweety” to ABLP was used to try to bowl bouncers to Whenner, and how Whenner nearly killed he wid sixes.
The writer hit the nail on the head! The UPP’s disorganization is their biggest downfall. If they can’t manage their internal issues, how can they manage a country?
Is that a BALD PATCH or a BIG FOREHEAD on NOWORTH AZILLE????🤔
Six weeks to pick a candidate for a by-election they knew was coming? That’s unacceptable. The UPP needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror.
@Zackie – Please! Nobody a tek up fu Richard Lewis. The facts are being stated. Ya’ll love to talk bout cool-aid, but ya’ll can’t be objective! Jus’ hush please!
BRIXTONIAN IS BACK!!!
I note with interest, that since my self-imposed ANR sabbatical, that as the run-up to the forthcoming by-election nears, the usual – and unusual – suspects are raising their negative narratives about the ‘Stronger Than Ever’ UPP.
Boring, boring, boring …
Furthermore, even those ABLP members who wouldn’t say boo to a goose (like Molwyn ‘AstraZeneca’ Joseph and Max ‘Missing In Action’ Fernández) are now chirping up like dem do anything good to benefit hardworking Antiguans. Tarl!
ABLP the most predictable party when by-elections and General Elections are near with their promises of a “Better Tomorrow” for the voting public.
Do not fall for their nonsensical nonsense again on January 14th.
Again, ABLP counting dem eggs in a fowl bottom before dem ready to hatch.
BRIXTONIAN IS BACK!!!
“Gisele Isaac, the Party Chair, members of UPP Women’s Forum and other key members, jetted off to Ghana, leaving the party in limbo. ”
that “WOMENS FORUM” will be the final nail in the upp coffin…headed by the Man Cow
“Is Isaac the only person entitled to a vacation while her party languishes in disarray?”
YES!!! Recall her conduct at the retreat. Queen G bows to no one.
BRIXTONIAN is back with his dry jokes about “stronger than ever UPP”. Well, your jokes now sound dryer than ever so go back to your sabatical and remain there forever.
Here is the answer: There is no way that Richard Lewis, a man of integrity, could swallow his conscience and endorse Whenner, who publicly at the UPP convention, took off his shirt and was in the faces of Lewis’s wife and children when Pringle won the leadership. And Simon is always conveniently off island. The UPP is fractured beyond repair.
That should be brown shoe brown belt.
Brix…I understand you had quit because they were behind in their payment to you for blogging. Guess they are now up to date.
