Shame on You, Dr. Jaqui Quinn!

As a proud supporter of the United Progressive Party (UPP), I am appalled by Dr. Jaqui Quinn’s recent attempt to distort the truth and shift the blame onto the Prime Minister for wrapping up the debate. This is simply untrue.

I am disappointed that the debates were cut short; parliament is my passion, and I love listening to the discourse. However, I witnessed the parliamentary dialogue firsthand, and I saw the Prime Minister yield five times to allow Hon. Algernon Watts and Hon. Kelvin Simon to contribute to the debate. However, they strolled into parliament late, after lunch, and still refused to engage.

Dr. Jaqui Quinn, as a respected figure in our community, you do not have the right to mislead your audience. Your attempt to blame the Prime Minister for the debate’s conclusion is not only misleading but also irresponsible.

Let me make one thing clear: as a UPP supporter, I will not stand for this kind of folly. Whether it comes from the ALP or UPP, I will not support any attempt to distort the truth and deceive the public. Many who read this article will see the situation for what it is—a desperate attempt to shift blame and avoid accountability.

We are truly living in challenging times, where good is twisted into evil, and lies are presented as truth. I refuse to be part of this. I demand honesty, integrity, and transparency from our leaders and public figures.

So, Dr. Jaqui Quinn, I urge you to reflect on your actions and consider the impact of your words. Let us strive for truth and responsible leadership; anything less is unacceptable.

While the Prime Minister and his party certainly have their faults, the claim that they closed down the debate and stifled democracy is a blatant lie that must be challenged.

Dr. Quinn’s actions are a stark reminder that even those in positions of power and influence can sometimes prioritize politics over truth and accountability. As a constituent, I demand better from our leaders. We deserve honesty and a commitment to upholding the principles of democracy.

Let us stand together in defense of truth, democracy, and accountability. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and future generations to demand better from our leaders and hold them accountable for their actions.

  1. Jacqui is just another victim of the rapidly spreading Pringle Puppet mind virus.

    Call the CBH sanitizers NOW!

By the way where is the UPP St. Peter Candidate?

We are still waiting on the first 10 the Puppet promised. Now we have by election in less than 30 days and still nothing?

    The UPP garn a gwasa!

    • they SCRAMBLING to find a puppet clown to dance in their circus in St. Peter’s. NO CANDIDATE.. World Boss caught them with their pants down exposing tiny penis

  2. When she took over from Darren ( after TOXIC workplace bullying from Joan’s hater) she promises to be “fair and balanced” …….. like Fox News.

TRANSPARENCY: How much of TAXPAYERS MONIES WAS USED TO FUND CANCER TREATMENT AT THAT ELITE HOSPITAL IN THE USA??

Did she ever pay back one red cent??

Can others get the same assistance if they experience a similar health problem??

  3. While the PM was strategic in his wrapup and it was a clear conspiracy to show how unprepared the opposers were, the UPP had all right to present because

    1. It was their turn

    2. The PM did yield 5 times to offer them the opportunity so to do

    3. That was a GREAT opportunity for them to actually work. Due to their incompetence, they ALWAYS find a reason not to be present or present. Always an excuse. The Hon member from the UPP literally stated he was to present the next day and therefore “DID NOT HAVE HIS NOTES” like really!!!!! smh

  4. Jacqui is a national disgrace. Having been educated at public expense, having received. Medical benefits in a time and manner not available to the ordinary Antiguan and Barbudan, jacqui seems to consider us, the general public as idiots who depend on the likes of jacqui and the UPP to do our thinking for us. She has managed to gain a university degree in, of all things, journalism ( like her leader de jezebel isaac) and has returned home with the belief that the public is her footstool, that she could tell us anything and we will accept it without question. Instead of using her taxpayer-paid university education to enlighten and educate the public, she deliberately encourages ignorance and divisiveness . Shame on you jacqui, but then, you have no shame.

  5. N that the writer is. A labourite trying to say they support UPP. It is just sickening in this country. Always playing the blame when evidence right in our face. Why wasn’t the ministers of the different ministries allowed to talk so that the opposition could rebut. I have been around for over 50 yrs n know that’s trend for debates. R U must tap play politics n think country first. Antigua’a name is what sound bad out there. Not d politicians!!!

  6. What about the five MPs on the government side that haven’t spoken yet? Were they sleeping when the PM yielded 5 times or were they ordered to shut up? Mr PM THIS IS A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF CUTTING OFF YOUR OWN NOSE TO SPITE YOUR FACE

  7. Everybody looking in the political direction – BS!
The new uneducated Speaker is clearly to blame in not knowing his power and expectation for the elucidation of Parliamentary Procedure.
I have no doubt that he will learn to control His House and not let the Brats & Rats of politics turn Rude Bwoy under him. He needs to know there is no Prime Minister in Parliament. Gerald Watt knew that, he was just sucking up.

  8. This is the way the Red Ants get their energy. Notice how they burst out of their mound. Why is Dwayne George not charged with a drug offense in the Post Office matter? (Any Red Ants?)

  9. I believe the writer is a labour supporter. Let me say here and now that I am an independent. I also believe that the UPP MP’s should have debated. I don’t this it was even a matter of unpreparedness, but lacked the wisdom to cease the moment. The excuses were lame. They were given the budget document and from all that I have been hearing that they were prepared , Except for Bowen who had just returned from the US and had planned to debate the next morning. So saying that they were waiting on the government ministers to go first was not a valid excuse. Although I would have preferred myself for those on the government side to present first. Nothing withstanding they were going alternately up until Lunch , so why the change. Yes and I also believe that they purposely delayed to change the format. The Pm wittingly went the rapping up route. When he yielded they should have taken the opportunity to continue the debate.
This is one of the few moments that the opposition is allowed equal opportunity on state media and with the implosion that has been taking place in UPP , this was an opportunity to show that they can be still relevant.
They missed the opportunity and now they have even sunken lower. Again Gaston the political animal that he is called the by- election and again catch them as we would say with their pants down. As far as I am concerned is best they don’t even bother to contest the St.Peters seat.
