Sack Sammy now
What else should we do? The captaincy shake up has come back to haunt him and Dr. Shallow. Dr. Shallow isn’t playing on the field, his resignation won’t help. The T20I whitewash is unforgivable, we were the third best ranked team in the world when Rovman Powell was removed, now we are sixth.
What has changed between then and now, and it’s the captaincy.
Shai Hope our best whiteball batter does not make him a great captain. Besides, he is opening the batting, wicketkeeping and setting the field, the guy only has two hands, it’s too much for him. He won’t back down from the challenge but the guy isn’t a robot.
Are any of the players listening to Ravi Rampaul?
I agree with him, why not go for the yorker while the ball is new or during the powerplay? The team analyst, Avenesh Seeteram, what is he watching on those fancy computers?
In the third T20I, by the 13th over, the run rate was 10 and over, let’s give Tim David crab and dumplings in the slot on off stump, and when he got to fifty, let’s give him some more, he seemed to love it! Daren Sammy of all people, would have told Dwayne Bravo during his captaincy, to bowl full and wide, set the fine leg very straight, he’d rather concede a wide than a six.
Get out of the over at a run a ball at least. It’s a batting friendly track, fine, bowl the slower ball, once they connect at full pace, it will travel on a smaller ground!
For God’s sake, Daren Sammy is running down the stairs with instructions every minute to the players on the boundary, he still thinks he is captain, that’s why he didn’t want Rovman Powell at the helm, because he can’t control him.
I suspect Sammy is micromanaging the team, hovering over every session and every over. We’ve got to sack him, “the captain”, the excuse can’t be “Australia is a great team”, he needs to stop living in the past and let the team breathe.

He won’t resign cuz of pride
Kendell Karan, Darren Sammy should not have been in that position in the first place, never saw him as a good cricketer, he was always overhyped and the people responsible for him being there should also be sacked period
I fully concur! Sack Sammy soonest! Thank God for tge festivities taking place in many parts of the Caribbean which serve as a good distraction from the literal whitewashing being meted out to our “best”. And all this at a time when all of us in the Caribbean should be commemorating the anniversary of the Abolition of Slavery in 1834!!!! This is too bitter a pill. SACK SAMMY SOONEST!
You hmjust said it.
Dr Shallow isn’t playing on the field.
Only those on the field can win us games.
So why should Sammy have to go for the failure of the players.
Let me ask you this.
Should we sack Sammy and the next coach brings similar result what do we do?
Do we keep firing coaches with the same players over and over abd over?
No.
We must hold players responsible for their performerances.
We must reward players for theor performances.
We must reward players based on performance.
Our players are too highly paid.
My other issue was with the change of captaincy for the T20 team.
Powell was not a bad captain.
There was no rational for the removal as captain.
I think too much power has been placed in Sammy’s hands.
That is the first step in getting it right and regaining some respectability in west indies cricket.
The problems of West Indies Cricket goes way beyond Sammy. But as coach and selector, he cannot escape culpability and some responsibility for the overall performance of the team.. Part of the responsibility of the coach is to analyze the teams strengths and weakness and plan strategies for each match. He directs, encourage and motivate players and prepare them mentally, physically and emotionally for the competition. It is clear that Sammy presided over a team that is demoralized and badly shaken. He would forever be remembered for presiding over a team that scored the second ever lowest score in a test match. He should do the right thing and go.
What level have Sammy coached or assisted prior to getting this job? So how in the world he landed such a huge position after just finishing his cricket playing career?
I want to believe with Eldine Baptiste background he would have been more qualified.
It doesn’t matter who the coach is. Our cricketers are awful. We can’t bat or bowl.
Sammy should be relegated to the waste basket of history, who doesn’t want to hear it too bad
