LETTER: Resident Raises Concerns Over Police Response After Woman Threatened To Shoot Her

0

A woman is raising serious concerns about the response of the All Saints Police Station after she says she was threatened with a licensed firearm while driving home from work several weeks ago.

According to the woman, the incident occurred approximately six weeks to two months ago when an unknown woman, who is not a resident of the area, allegedly blocked the roadway and became involved in a verbal altercation with her.

During the dispute, the woman reportedly said she had a licensed firearm and threatened to shoot her.

Fearing for her life, the complainant said she immediately made efforts to report the matter to the All Saints Police Station. While on her way to the station, she said she was on the phone with a female police officer when she explained that a man was tailgating her vehicle. However, she claims the conversation was cut short rather than handled as an urgent safety concern.

Upon arriving at the station, the woman said she gave an account of the incident and provided the license plate number of the vehicle involved. She also reported that she had been threatened and placed in fear after the suspect allegedly stated she would shoot her.

However, the complainant expressed disappointment with how the matter was handled, claiming that despite the seriousness of the report, she was simply allowed to leave without receiving any clear reassurance or indication that immediate action would be taken.

She further alleged that attention appeared to be given to another individual who was not directly involved in the incident and had no firsthand knowledge of what took place.

Since filing the report, the woman said she has made several follow-up calls and has attempted to speak with senior officers, but has not received any meaningful update or clear explanation regarding the progress of the matter.

The incident has reportedly left her living in fear, particularly because she claims the woman who threatened her is frequently seen in the same area.

She is now calling for greater accountability and responsiveness from the All Saints Police Station, arguing that threats involving firearms should be treated with the utmost urgency.

The woman also questioned whether enough is being done to protect members of the public who come forward to report serious threats to their safety.

She is urging the relevant authorities, including senior police leadership, to review how such complaints are handled and to ensure that members of the public receive the protection and support they need when reporting incidents of this nature.
