LETTER: No Taxpayer Money for J’Truth Until He Cleans Up His Act.

Dear Editor Please Address This Letter to Prime Minister Gaston BrowneCLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR WHATS APP GROUP

I took note of two statements made by Prime Minister Gaston Browne following his interview with the comedian more than two weeks ago.

The Prime Minister stated on Pointe FM that he wanted the radio station and J’Truth to collaborate regarding the sharing of his weekly Browne and Browne Show. Another statement that the Prime Minister made, which is very concerning to me, is that he wanted various government ministries to purchase paid promotions on the Facebook platform.

Let me be clear: the ABLP and Pointe FM can spend their money wherever they wish. However, when it comes to spending taxpayers’ money, that is a different matter and requires stricter guidelines.

Before I go further, let me also make it very clear that I am an Antiguan taxpayer, a supporter of the ABLP, and a huge supporter of Prime Minister the Right Honourable Gaston Browne. I fully understand the political strategy behind shutting J’Truth up with a few crumbs. If we can shut him up, we have less to worry about with him being a voice for the opposition.

Prime Minister, while you may have emerged from that interview looking good and extremely strong, don’t get carried away, because the J’Truth who has been the loudest critic of your government for the last four years has not changed one bit. On a daily basis, he continues to use vulgar language, assassinate the character of innocent citizens, defame individuals, and spread hate in this beautiful country.

While you may have left that interview thinking that J’Truth is a changed man, nothing could be further from the truth. He may have tried to appear “professional” during your interview, but we all know why. You can’t be professional in one breath and a degenerate in another.

This is why I am saying that unless J’Truth completely stops attacking and bullying people with his consolidated and hypocritical views, not one dollar of taxpayers’ money should be spent on him. The truth is, J’Truth continues to break the law by spreading misinformation and hate via Facebook. This is the very reason your government considered laws to crack down on people like him in the first place. The law exists, and police officers must enforce the Electronic Crimes Act.

I wish to bring your attention to two sections of this law that the so-called influencer breaches daily:

  1. Section 13 – Harassment Utilizing Means of Electronic System
A person shall not intentionally, without lawful excuse or justification, intimidate, coerce, or harass another person using an electronic system.
There are numerous instances of him violating this Act, including his recent personal and sexist attack on songstress Asher Otto and his defamation of former national athlete Tevaughn Hariette.
  2. Section 8 – Violation of Privacy
A person who, intentionally or without lawful excuse or justification, captures, publishes, or transmits the image of a private area of a person, or the image, whether whole or partial, of a person in a vulnerable position without their consent under circumstances violating their privacy, commits an offence.
J’Truth’s series naming and shaming alleged rapists and sexual offenders—many of whom have never been convicted before a court of law—was a blatant violation of this section.

He has also breached Section 6, which prohibits sending offensive and threatening messages through communication services. On an almost daily basis, J’Truth uses his Facebook Lives to send offensive and threatening messages, including calling private citizens “whores,” “prostitutes,” and “bullers.”

Prime Minister, not a single taxpayer dollar should be spent on J’Truth unless he makes an immediate change and apologizes to all his victims. This is serious business. While we tuned in to your interview with J’Truth, it was not to hear national issues—viewers expected a showdown, which we did not get.

Don’t think for a moment that the national issues you want to promote will garner any real viewership on his platform. His audience tunes in to hear him curse and insult people, not to engage in serious discussions.

Ironically, he recently made a post that all people can do is criticize. I find this to be quite hilarious for a person who has used Facebook and infact has abused Facebook and built a platform on criticizing others while having nothing good to say.

Finally, Prime Minister, one trend of your leadership concerns me: you seem to reward individuals for bad behavior by fast-tracking their access to the public purse. I urge you to reconsider whether you want to sanitize characters like J’Truth by turning them into saints. Remember, people solely motivated by money will turn against you when the funds stop flowing.

Focus on rewarding those loyal to you with the same haste that you reward those behaving badly for attention.

Sincerely,
Margaret Meredith Perez Joseph-Flores
Citizen and Resident of Antigua and Barbuda

  1. He reminds me of the Jamaican social media personality Pretti Don’ whose sole agenda is to get money from people so that she won’t attack them. Those who don’t pay her feel the brunt of her attacks.

  2. Look how quickly Gaston buy him out with a few crumbs. He is busy showing road repair works . Mind you some of these road repair works started a long time ago.

  3. 1 sit down and J Truth sell out…..see why it’s so important to from your own opinion and rely on these so called “influencers”

  4. I agree one million per cent. JLies is a vulgar, abuser and should have been prosecuted long ago. But the law picks and chooses in this country.

  5. I found it strange that the PM went on J Truth and two days later wanted to instruct government agencies to begin sending money his way. PM the same thing you had issue with J truth before he continued to do to others. Do not legitimize and sanitise that kind of behavior.

  6. Just wash his mouth with CARBOLIC SOAP.He would never uttered a so called dirty word again.By the way,who determines a good word from a bad one.All words have meanings.

  7. My comment pertains the PM Brown, the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda who went to promote this person but when I ask him to do something as simple as acknowleding that individuals who are victims of vicious crimes, American in Antigua and Barbuda and the Caribbean, and Antiguans and Barbudans in the US, should be provided vital advocacy to get access to crime victim funds (that the US has), he conveyed my endeavor is not important and he cannot help doing something as small as telling the police and a commission to make the decision in a reasonable time, on the merit, as the project is of national importance. After his radio time with the radio host (I do not know him or have anything against him), the PM immediately became his advocate. I am not against that. My point is, why not all Antiguans the PM encourages and facilitate their progress and success?

  8. What ANR should to is go into the archives and pull up all the things Gaston has said about J Truth and tell me if something has changed to warrant all the big promises being made to him.

  9. Who cares, all Antigua is a big puppet show with a bunch of ignorant characters. Everything is a distraction as the people who want to run the show are quietly watching you clowns and laughing at you monkey people….

  10. Didn’t the pm at one time say that j truth was the scum of the earth,
And he doesn’t understand how people listen to him!

A snake will shed its skin but it can never shed it nature. Gaston and J’Truth are snakes of the same species, very cunning.
They both know of each other’s habits and hunting grounds, since, they were both indoctrinated into the same Order💀🦨☠️drank from the Crystal Skull to gain more influence and power. J’Truth has removed his replica of the Crystal 💀Skull which hung over his left shoulder during his Cybercasts.
Gaston has seen the opportunity, to use J’Truth who has a Cyberspace presence and audience with the LAZY DUFFAS, in order to reach them with PROPOGANDA for his political agenda.
What Gaston is attempting to do is to use PUBLIC FUNDS, to fund a private entity and use this private entity Gay_Truth Enterprises, to campaign ans do the bidding for the Ruling Arm of the government which is his Gaston’s ABLP..
J’Truth of Gay_Truth Enterprises is a snake. Shedding his old skin 🍌🐍🍌will not change the 🩸blood running through his veins💀🦨☠️

  14. To all the spin doctors. Pointe FM can and Jtruth are free to contract. ABLP and Gaston, free to contract, TAX PAYERS money, No Problem. CLEAN UP YOU DUTTY MOUTH.
