• When the present political leader of the A.B.L.P. said publicly (I have the recording) that ‘persons’ in his party was cooping leadership.
• When the Chairman of the A.B.L.P. was warned publicly that if he continued with the employment of a certain radio host, his position might be taken away from him. How did that end up again?
And I can go on and on………..
By the way, a comrade told me this morning that the A.B.L.P. have not had a convention, to challenge for the political leader position from since 2012. That is 14 years ago.
I am told that the conventions are called just to ratify candidates for an upcoming election.

The irony of this “letter” and Joan’s recent broadcasts is truly staggering. We are watching a masterclass in how to lose an election before it even starts. As a resident of Bolans, I find it beggars belief that the UPP is choosing to wash its “dutty linen” in public so aggressively. Honestly, if the ABLP were paying the UPP to implode, they couldn’t have designed a better strategy.
1. Authority vs. The Airwaves
Joan claims Hon. Kelvin Simon is “missing in action” and disconnected from his branch. I have to ask: Is Joan now the authority on St. Mary’s South? Unless she is on the ground here in Bolans, her opinion on Kelvin’s work is irrelevant. I am a voter in this constituency, and my “X” will be for Kelvin Simon because he has earned it at the polls—twice in one year. He doesn’t need to win a radio host’s approval; he has the people’s mandate.
2. The Ghost of Chet Greene’s Failure
We haven’t forgotten the situation with Chet Greene and the ABLP. Many of us “flogged” Chet for his perceived inaction and for allowing the PM to dictate how his station should be run, eventually forcing out Darren Matthew-Ward. We called it out then as a spineless surrender of media independence. Why is the UPP now cheering for Joan to do the exact same thing? You cannot cuss the ABLP for being autocratic and then praise a host on All Saints Road for trying to muzzle an elected MP.
3. Media Independence vs. Sycophancy
Joan was perfectly happy to use Knight’s platform when it was “banging” the ABLP. Now that the critique is directed at the UPP’s internal mess, she wants to call for censorship? That isn’t “party unity”—it’s hypocrisy. You can’t champion free speech only when it benefits you. If the UPP is “tearing each other down,” it’s because people like Joan are using the party’s own megaphone to launch hit jobs on our most successful young candidates.
4. Grow Up or Get Out
Nobody would know about these internal rifts if you didn’t bring them to the public airwaves. It is time to stop the schoolyard bullying and the obsession with power and position. While the sycophants are busy fighting over who is “loyal” to the leadership, the actual voters are looking for the exit. If the UPP doesn’t find some political maturity soon, don’t be surprised when voters like me start looking toward the DNA for a viable, adult option.
