I strongly believe in giving people their flowers while they are alive to see them, appreciate them, and enjoy them.
Today, I would like to publicly express my sincere appreciation to the Honorable Michael Joseph for his exceptional responsiveness and commitment to public service.
Although I do not know him personally, I was genuinely impressed by the prompt and professional manner in which he responded to my WhatsApp messages. In today’s environment, where many constituents often struggle to receive timely responses from public officials, his willingness to listen, respond, and assist deserves recognition.
I contacted Minister Joseph regarding two separate concerns within Antigua and Barbuda’s healthcare system. The first involved the lengthy wait times at the Emergency Department of the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre.
He responded promptly, provided a clear explanation for the delay, reached out to the appropriate hospital personnel, and shared the information he received. I greatly appreciated his transparency, responsiveness, and willingness to follow through on the matter

The second concern involved my sister, who had been without her prosthetic leg for two months due to delays in the specialist’s visit to the island.
I sent Minister Joseph a WhatsApp message on Monday and followed up on Tuesday. Later that same Tuesday, my sister received a call from her doctor’s office informing her that the specialist would be on the island on Friday and that she had been scheduled for an appointment.
While I understand that many factors contribute to the delivery of healthcare services, I sincerely appreciate Minister Joseph’s willingness to intervene and ensure that the matter received the attention it deserved.
Honorable Michael Joseph, thank you for your accessibility, professionalism, compassion, and unwavering dedication to serving the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
Leadership is measured not only by words but by action, and your responsiveness demonstrated a genuine commitment to helping those in need.
Please continue the excellent work. I pray that God will continue to grant you wisdom, strength, and guidance as you serve our nation.

Minister Joseph came out of the starting block like a champion of the people that he is. And he should be commended for his dedication, commitment and hard work.
He has even made a visit to Barbuda medical facility and their medical personal with his team. Something he predecessor Molwyn Joseph has never done to the best of my knowledge, in all his years as Minister of Health.
No question Minister Joseph is doing a commendable job and has set the benchmark for others to follow.
The process Ms. Spencer-Callwood had to go through is an example of what’s wrong with the Government services system in Antigua and Barbuda.
One should not have be calling on their politician to intercede in order to obtain timely quality and humane service.
Government Ministries should have a management structure where operations provide timely professional services. One should not have to call on their Minister.
I hope that Minister Joseph put in place individuals who can respond without Ms. Spencer-Callwood and others having to call on Minister Joseph as Minister of Health
Where is the CEO or medical Director or Department Heads?
It’s a good thing to thank and recognize The Honorable Michael Joseph; for his accessibility and expeditiously delivering of Government services.
But the Honurable Minister is a policy maker; not a Chief Operating Officer.
He would have failed if he does not put in place the policies, and hold his medical executive team accountable.
It’s time to stop the need to call on the Minister for Government services.
There is a role for Ministers of Government to make phone calls on behalf of their constituents to private companies.
Government personnel should do their job without the need for the Minister to intervene.
Minister Joseph is a breath a breath air; and I wish him much success.
I think Mr Michael Joseph need to make amends with kiethroy Joseph aka shacks the master technician to continue work in the hospital and impart his knowledge as he is becoming elderly, and to lose that wealth of knowledge will be a lost to this country with such small population and human resource skill, he should walk a different road than sir molwyn Joseph with his vindictive attitude, I myself worked abroad and is given great respect as a worker in my field as a linesman, and came back to Antigua only to be fought down by the status quo and institutional confrontations, Mr shack is respected Caribbean wide, and so his country owes him even twice that respect, call in Mr shack on contract to repair and train younger people to take over the maintenance of the hospital equipment, the red party and the blue party seem to think they are neighboring countries, but they better wake up to reality and recognize that we all suffer the same when equipment at the hospital is broken down or other lacking of infrastructure and finances to make life more comfortable.
Hon. Michael Joseph, you’re an inspiration to many. Continued blessings on your journey in public service.
This gentleman has been a humanitarian for YEARS. I met him as a pharmacist and Red Cross Chair. I have since been privy to the many outreach programs and youth camps that he has facilitated for the last decade and more. He is, and always has been, for the people.
