Dear Editor,
It is sad to say that with everything going on in the media with different government offices having issues with mold and ventilation, the biggest issue that’s not in the media is that Financial Services Regulatory Commission Staff has been working in a dire situation since February!! RATS!
They have been dealing with rats in the roof of their building in Royal Palm complex and more recently, they were chasing a mice running around in their office.

What is really the worst part is that management is fighting against the union every time a solution is put on the table!! Staff has to subject themselves to working in these conditions.
I even learned that one Staff has developed respiratory problems due to the unclean air and surroundings. Yet staff has to hush because they are afraid of a pay cut!
Something must be done! Management seem to only care about the work and not the wellness of the staff. Its sad to see that people still have to work with that sort of leadership.
FSRC staff is crying out for intervention from the government because the union seems to not be getting anywhere!

They are not subjected to work in those conditions. Rats are known to carry some serious diseases which can lead to death. If that is the case, they need to stand up and let their voices be heard. Health comes first.
Management needs to act and relocate the staff or have a number of staff work remotely if that’s possible and address the situation….
And to see I wanted to go work here… running from mold to rats… I’ll pass.
You are chatting rubbish. No government worker can be afraid of pay cuts because the department doesnt control their salaries, cabinet does. Their union is weak or they would taken industrial action even before the situation became this seemingly dire.
Appealing to the government will be a colossal waste of time, most of the buildings they operate in is even worse. That’s what you get from a shitty administration
WHAT THE HELL…! …FSRC STAFF WORKING WITH RATS: …WH IS MORE EFFICIENT?
***
Clearly, not a ‘…HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT FOR FSRC STAFF.’
***
But if ‘…FSRC STAFF MEMBERS’ are ‘…CRYING OUT,’ while ‘…@FEDUP’ it is suggested: they
‘…STAND-UP.’
***
This could either be
(i) ‘…TO DO THE WORK SO ASSIGNED: or
(ii) …STAND-UP TO THE RATS: or
(ii) …TO THE AUTHORITIES: and
(b) …LET THEIR VOICES BE HEARD.’
***
That will not even move the darn: ‘…RATS.’
***
QUESTION:
‘…WHO ARE MORE …COMPETENT: …EFFICIENT: PRODUCTIVE AND RELIABLE?
(a) ‘…THE FSRC STAFF: or
(b) …THE INTRUSIVE OR INVASIVE RATS?’
***
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
As these ‘…RATS’ have ‘…STAFF CRYING OUT,’ then at the DESKS’ where the ‘…STAFF’ SIT, give them all the darn ‘…WORK TO DO.’
***
Should they continue to give trouble, then give them some darn thing to eat.
***
WHAT THE HELL…!
***
NOW:
THROUGH ‘…ANR,’ CONTINUE TO ‘…RAT’ ON THEM.’
***
SMELL-THE-RAT…? (IDIOM)
***
THOUGH NOT BELONGING TO THEM, MAYBE: …JUST MAYBE:
(i) ‘…THE CHIEF HEALTH INSPECTOR, SHARON MARTIN (Health Concerns): and
(ii) …THE LABOR COMMISSIONER, ELTONIA ANTHONY-ROJAS (Working Condition),’ MAY ‘…SMELL-THE- RAT.’
***
KEEP IT UP, ‘ANR.’

You’re paying union every month, but still have to call on government, must be some sorry ass union. It’s kind a funny in a way, since as a kid we all grew up with rats and mice in our homes, be it country or town and we survived. The place on a whole is filthy and where there is filth rats will continue to roam.
a comment “Monday, phone camera rolling a good 30 seconds, then appears a mouse, then the sound of someone screaming. First time in about 15 years, even a mouse has been spotted in the building. Was it all staged? Employees then do not say they will take action at most the next day. They instead claim to postphone it until the next monday (clearly do not feel urgent danger), expecting full month’s pay by Friday. Will they abandon their house, even for a day, if mice were seen? CBH in a release no more than a month ago, points out the entire island has a rhodent issue and has launched a campain labelled “”Wanted Dead – Not Alive” anti-rodent campaign” Will FSRC staff be leaving Antigua to a rhodent free country?”
Call in the Pied Piper Gaston to lead them over Devils Bridge. It’s in the pipeline for 2026.
