Disappointment in the UPP: A Call for Leadership Accountability

In recent times, the United Progressive Party (UPP) has been facing significant scrutiny from its supporters, particularly in the light of recent electoral defeats and a perceived lack of leadership presence. One supporter, expressing despair over the party’s direction, has penned a heartfelt letter detailing their frustration with the current state of the UPP under the leadership of Jemal Pringle.

The letter opens with a poignant question: Is Jamal Pringle still leading the UPP? For many long-time supporters, this uncertainty reflects deeper concerns about the party’s visibility and effectiveness. The writer notes a string of recent failures, including poorly attended rallies, a disappointing failed concert, and the particularly disheartening results from the St. Peter’s by-election, where the party faced a crushing defeat.

These events have raised alarms among constituents who once believed in the UPP’s vision for Antigua and Barbuda. The author of the letter points out the conspicuous absence of party leadership during these critical moments, particularly from Pringle, whose silence has not gone unnoticed. For supporters who have cast their votes for the UPP for three consecutive election cycles, this silence is disheartening and raises questions about the future of the party.

The sentiment expressed is one of a supporter reaching a breaking point. The writer stresses the need to prioritize the country over party loyalty, stating that the government appears more organized and capable of governance in the Antigua and Barbuda. The perception is clear: supporters are looking for leadership that inspires confidence and a vision that resonates with the electorate’s hope for change.

In conclusion, this letter reflects a growing sentiment among UPP supporters who are calling for accountability, communication, and a re-evaluation of the party’s leadership. For the UPP to regain its standing as a viable opposition party, there is a pressing need for revitalization and a clear path forward—one that re-engages its base and addresses the pressing issues facing the citizens of Antigua and Barbuda. The time is now for the UPP to shape up or risk being overshadowed by a new opposition that appears ready to take the reins of leadership.

  1. Tell us something that we don’t know!

The UPP made its bed. Now they must lie in it.

The elevation of a Gisele Issac Puppet to leadership is a slap in the face of its own UPP base, as well as the entire electorate. It was an act of capitulation in a way.

The UPP has clearly demonstrated that it is neither interested in being a viable opposition, nor forming Government.

Who could even imagine Pringle leading a lemonade stand, much less Antigua and Barbuda? Even his event company only survives because his brother is the real brains behind the operation.

Pringle is a pure waste man, as young people say. He should play to his strengths, like being a baby mother factory. Leave party leadership for those who know what the hell they’re doing.

He’s already gained enough for destroying UPP. Just retire to your Baba Mega Mansion with your concubines and let UPP rebuild by 2033

  2. We went out and voted for the UPP in the last general election and we got more votes than the ABLP, I will go to my grave believing that Lovell was cheated or we would have won. The UPP must now come together and rebuild because the ABLP can be beaten in a fair election

    • The UPP LOST!!!!! They did NOT get more votes than ABLP!!! stop trying to include asot vote in yáll counts….it smells cheap and desperate!! Turner came and put a helluva bullbud on Wehnner to show you all Labour Party and St. Peter are one!

  3. Ohhh Visionary: ohhh my my, seems that you need your spectacles cleaned because its obscuring your vision…haha… Keep believing that.

  4. I see the UPP delusion is stronger than my black coffee this morning.

@Rovi: UPP supporters stood so firm that they stayed home in large numbers and gave Wehner less votes than Peter Redz. Even so, UPP forever!

@Visionary: I see you are still clinging to the lie that those Asot voters were UPP voters. Those Asot voters were added to the UPP’s popular vote count, remember? So what happened in St. Peter? Why did the “UPP popular voters, through Asot” give Wehner LESS votes than the discarded Peter Redz?

Anyway… UPP STRONGER THAN EVER! 💙💛💙💛

@Pringle and Gisele (the two-in-one UPP destroying cancer): NEVR QUIT! NEVER RELENT! LEAD UPP FOREVER!
