LETTER: Did the ABLP lie to CARICOM Citizens?

13

Dear Editor,

This letter will be short and to the point.

In the lead up to the January elections, the UPP promised to waive Work Permit fees for CARICOM citizens.

The ABLP responded and upped the ante by adding the waiver not just for fees but also for Work Permits and included those from the Dominican Republic.

Now all we are hearing from the ABLP is about waiver of fees from 1st May, 2023.

So was the promise to waive Work Permits by the ABLP just an election gimmick?

More Labour Party lies to fool our CARICOM brothers and sisters?

  1. How these hungry belly people expect to come here thief Antigua people jobs? Guyana is a rich country with oil and gold; Jamaica is rich; the middle-east has oil; let these people go home to their kit and kin. The 2 hapney we have must be preserved for indigenous Antiguans.

    • Hello Mr. Byam. Hungry belly? I will not speak on behalf on Jamaicans, they can ably defend themselves. I am speaking on behalf of all Guyanese. I am willing to bet you, that for every ten Guyanese living here, nine of them are living BETTER than you, IN EBRY SINGLE WAY. I also believe that hungry belly is a good thing, because a hungry belly Guyanese is your ambassador to the United nations. A hungry belly descendent is your tourism minister. Taught your children? Dig you when you go to the hospital? House of ill repute? Need I go on? With that said, do I need to state the reason why are many hungry belly Guyanese are here? It can’t be food or land, because you in you xenophobic crap, slipped and mentioned that we have those too in abundance. Stand naked Infront of your mirror. No one else, just you. The answer will soon come to you.

  2. There are so many lies and falsehoods from Gaston Browne and the ABLP government, that think they’re above the law and accountability.

They are running the country like it personally belongs to Gaston!

WHY DO WE CONTINUALLY PUT UP WITH THESE MISCREANTS?

  3. We were here when upp was in government and we lived the hell of a upp administration. Dead economy, high unemployment and crime was crazy in Antigua then….. fooling who? Not me.

    • @ jay jay

      lol, you are a joka

the economy is soooooooo alive that you do not even have money to pay teachers, nurses, keep the cancer care open, money to build the new cemetery that Molwyn took $2,000,000 for that was never built, not to talk about crime- u wanna go there you imbecile…..crime is raking havoc in our beloved country, you know why? because it’s coming down from the top, so everyone follows the greedy politicians of the ABLP…..I could go on, but you are just a waste of time and wasted ink to talk to.

    • Jay Jay your in denial to our current problems in Antigua. However, I admire your loyalty to Gaston Browne and the ABLP. Top notch 👍

Here’s a simple POLITICAL maths equation for your nonsensical comment:

The Birdism and Browneism accumulated years in total is 50 years, minus the 10 years of Spencer’s governance equals 40 years.

40 years was more than enough time to sort through Antigua & Barbuda’s current woes – who fooling who now Jay Jay (you guys can’t see the woods for the trees)?

I DON’T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS TO ABLP SUPPORTERS!

… AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WON’T BE THE LAST EITHER …

  4. Knowing that the ALP is infamous for lies, why are you surprised? They have used foreigners to remain in power and continue to do so, just have a look at, “For your eyes only.” Antiguans need to reclaim our country. I don’t have a problem with them being here, but they should be secondary to native born Antiguans. At heart, these people may hold our passport, but they are not Antiguans, due to the ALP’s unending amnesties.
Ask your self this? Can Antiguans and Barbudans go to your country and get away with what you get away with here? You voted ALP again, so you have to live with your decision. Unfortunately.

  5. I live in the states, and there is no way I’m more important than these Americans that were born here, black or white, so why are these ridiculous promises are made to immigrants? The great United States does not make ridiculous promises to immigrants, not that they are wicked or mean, they just don’t give up their lands to immigrants, simple.
