LETTER: Concerns Over Donna and Lamin’s Behavior Impacting Labour Party Image

1. I am in agreement with things being said here, those I know to be and those I am in reliance of the author’s words.

   I can agree that ABLP care zero for merit and care zero for who have always stand with them. For that reason, all candidates should be treated equally and fairly, even if you have a preference.

   However I do know how ABLP is, I have first hand experience of how much this party that is/was your preference can abandoned, and ignore you. Especially when you are doing something nationally important and impactful on the country.

   It hurts hearing every second family and friends of theirs are achieving their goals but you cannot achieve the most basic things.

   However, their supporters hate the other party so much that if the leaders of their parties shoot you in the leg, they will justify it. It does not matter how much you sacrifice for them more than their political party gods, you cannot get fair treatment when it is you verses their political party gods.

2. Oh comrade letter writer, the fruit can’t fall too far from the tree. Whatever you dislike about Lammin and Donna go right back to PM Browne. Any true Labourites who’s red like my deceased father on my profile cannot be happy. Been crying out since Dwayne George selection killed the hopes and aspirations of any new Hugh Marshall Sr. That same thing will happen to the young and articulate Regis Burton when Donna gets her way. It’s sad but look no further than PM Browne himself. You true Labourites must call a spade a spade and not by any other name.

5. It is rather unfortunate that the Labour Party has reached this crossroads. No Labourite could have imagined that we would be in a place where so many UPP members and not to mention executive members have infiltrated the party and are being given preference over die hard Labourites who have done the work. I agree that the party is set to implode if this narrative isn’t checked and remedied post-haste. If former UPP wants to jump the fence, no problem, but not just show up and get promoted instantly above those who have been waiting in line. Lamin should never in a million years be shown preference over someone who is as articulate as Regis Burton, who has been doing the work required of him and was never tainted by the UPP process or ideology. That being said, each human being has a good side and a bad side and one can only hope that those who are jumping the fence have genuine intentions, but one must ponder whether or not someone who worked with such passion to smear and stain the reputation of Labour and its supporters, including the Prime Minister. I agree with calling out wrongdoing, but the personal attacks against Labour should have rendered even Colin Oneal persona non grata.

9. Who cares about your DAMN letter. We Do not care about you listening to POINTE FM. Pointe fm is number one in the OECS. Have you listen OBSERVER RADIO Voice of the People ,KNGHT at KNIGHT and SNAKEPIT. These are shows where “ SAY AS YOU LIKE “. So shut you damn mouth…UPP sand bag.

10. If you inundate a party with traitors, flip-floppers and people with questionable characters, what do you expect? ALP is imploding. ALP has never been good for Antigua and Barbuda, NEVER. They are synonymous with corruption, “tiefiness”, scandals and lies.
    Resigning them to the dustbin of history along with their cool aid drinkers will allow Antigua and Barbuda to breathe again.

11. I have posted before and have made my preference known based on investigation of the Candidates. And Lamin has turned out to be one with lots of baggage. First there is a saying a leopard never changes its spots. And one should always remember, people who jump ship will most likely jump ship again if the reason why they jump ship was a very selfish one. Yes we have many ALP members that are presently in government that have jumped ship. And yes they have gone through the test to prove that they have become ALP members from the heart. Many of them are followers of the Bird philosophy. Now you have the Gaston philosophy. Those following Gaston and not the Labour Party. Donna and Lamin are perfect example of Gastonites. I on the other hand am classified as a Bird man. But that does not mean I do not respect and honor my leader. Lester’s one and only big mistakes was when he brought in Asot Michael as one to run in our politics. The same man he brought in stab him in the back. Gaston should learn from that. Don’t be flattered by those who jumped ship and sing you praises. Those will be the same that will stab you in the back. They have no loyalty. They are in it for selfish reason. At the moment they do more harm then good inside the party. And the Unity of Labour is the Salvation for our Country. If Lamin is aware of the confusion and the split he is causing in the party. He would put Party before himself and stand down. It simple means he would show how humble he is and that his time has not yet come. And Gaston Browne should also take a lesson from this. You Sir have given those that jump ship to easy of an opportunity to get so close to you. They not only jumped ship but they jumped ranks so easily. And every men’s ego is boost when he gets praises as that which only belongs to God. Another thing I mentioned in a previous post was a leopard never changes its spots. Members of the UPP are very vindictive. We saw that especially with Dean Jonas. Every Ministry he went into he was implementing the same UPP practices of victimization. Lamin is trying to do the same thing and he doesn’t even run a ministry. Do you know that he has been made Executive chairman of the Board of CMC. His stewardship is one of trying to be a little dictator. Not even his fellow board member like Kimba, can talk to him. Kimba used to be signatory on the bank accounts of CMC. He single handedly change that and send a letter to the banks that unless his signature is on the checks they should not be honored. And one can image the amount of checks that had to be returned by the bank. Another one of his new implemented policy is that checks needs to be brought to him for his signature WHEREVER he is. So sometime the CMC has containers to clear and checks are needed urgently, and guess what. Lamin cannot be found. So the operation is coming to a halt. And the result is delay in the logistics of getting goods in the shelves in the supermarket more frequently. As I said the inconvenience of finding him on a daily basis is troubling. Sometimes he is at Pointe FM, sometimes at the Gym, sometimes at the Stadium. I wonder where else one would have to go to get checks signed. This all gives you an idea what this person is all about. He has a little power and throws it along. Were it not for the strong leadership of the CMC operation by one Ms. Millett whom I understand he wrote to saying she has been disrespectful to him, he would have done whatever he feels at CMC. Just last Christmas he ordered them to give him so many turkey and ham for distribution. And again were it not for the strong opposition of the manager he would not have paid for them. And let it be said, that Ms. Millett is a well-known UPP supporter. And she was placed there by the then UPP administration. Dean Jonas also wanted to replace her. But the Prime Minister said as long as people do their work they should not be victimized. That is a policy I agree with. We should not be accusing the UPP of victimization and turn around when we are in office we do the same. Look at Colin James at the ABTA. Placed there by Lovell. Asot wanted so much to replace him and Gaston stopped that. Now look how he is working out to be the best in his field. Taking our tourism to heights we never had before. I understand Mis. Millett did the same with CMC. Lamin has the same UPP spirit if victimization and therefore has a problem working with others in the ministry of Agriculture and now at CMC. He has made himself the weakest link in the organization. Because he wants to show that he is in control. It shows his lack of maturity and understand as to how the operation of a big company like this works. As a board members you shou have oversight. Not run the operation. The operation is run by the General Manager. Having oversight is holding management accountable. If you go and sit on the chair of operations who then holds you accountable? The minister? But then what did he put you there for. Chet, you better nip this overzealous young man in the bud. Send him on some Corporate Governance Training, which I believe he badly needs.
    And again I call on Lamin to not divide the party and step down from your high horse of pride for the party’s sake. Don’t let it be said that Lamin caused the rift in the Labour Party in All Saints West and St. Luke. Work in the interest of the Party. Not in the interest of self. Hope you take this advise.

12. If you think Lamin is bad, you’re not listening to the Biltmore. That woman has so much venom in her it is suffocating the party. She just talk and talk and talk and every other word is about UPP this and UPP that. She lied on Lovell and had to apologize. Somebody else than stupid Lovell would have put a class action suit right in she pig meat. She only want to talk about Lovell this and Serpent that. It appears like she and these two men had their time and things did not work out so well for her. Is that why she has so much trang for the two of them?
    She is going to destroy Pointe. Manhunt can’t handle her and he is like a puppy dog only echoing everything she says. The woman has so much hate in her for UPP. She just bringing it on our radio station. A UPP woman told me we could keep the two of them because they are glad to get rid of them.
    I am not happy. Donna came into Labour with lies. She lied about Lovell and recently she said that she never had anything to do with Lovell and Serpent and when Joan told Serpent that he just laugh. Everybody in Antigua know what was going on with her and Lovell and Serpent, so that was a lie. She said UPP did not help her with her hotel. That too is a lie. She is just using Labour and turning off the Labourites. Things are going to end badly for us if we don’t get rid of the two of them. Mark my word.
