Dear Editor,
I wish to take this opportunity to publicly commend Ms. Pearl Williams, Magistrate of the Family Court in Antigua and Barbuda, for the level of professionalism, fairness, and judicial balance demonstrated on 23 February 2026 in a matter in which I was personally involved.
While the application brought against me was denied, my appreciation is not rooted in the outcome being in my favour. Rather, it is grounded in the clear and unwavering focus placed where it rightfully belongs — on the welfare and best interests of the child, which stands at the very heart of the Maintenance Act and the principles that guide the Family Court.
The proceedings reflected careful consideration, impartiality, and a commitment to ensuring that justice serves not personal victories, but the protection and development of our children. That focus is what truly matters.
As a concerned father, I felt it important to acknowledge and applaud this standard of judicial conduct. Our society is strengthened when those entrusted with responsibility execute their duties with integrity, wisdom, and compassion.
Magistrate Williams, I encourage you to continue the excellent work you are doing. May the Lord continue to guide your judgment as you strive to make our community a better place for future generations.
Respectfully,
A Concerned Father

NICE!! I would like to see this fairness extended to everyone needing a balanced decision with the child/children being at the center of that decision.
Thanks for sharing this POSITIVE feedback..All the best to the writer
What I would like to see in the slow minded place is the system follow up on mothers collecting child support……Many collect and use it party, pay loans, rent, spend it on man etc…….The child still suffers at the end of the day and the whole point of the court ruling is for the innocent child’s to be met by both parents….Well many times the money gets sent to court the mother’s collect and straight to Beauty Shop buying hair products while the child home with cold running out nose and dirty clothes…
