LETTER: Citizens Demand Transparency in Social Security Payments

8

Dear Editor,

I am not sure if I just don’t understand how the system works or what but I have been working and paying my dues since I was actually 20 now I’m a grown woman.

I heard people spoke about not receiving their social security money until months after their claim.

Is going on a year since I’ve been sick and sent in a claims form and all now nothing has been paid out to me and it’s ridiculous at this point.

We the people need to know where our money is going because this is crazy I tell you.

I cannot and when I say cannot tell my work place not one time not to take out Social or Medical this week because I have things to do or can I and I just don’t know?.

You will call the office a million times only to hear it will be ready soon, well give us the option whether or not we want to pay Social Security then we won’t expect anything because we know that we didn’t contribute to the board cause clearly you guys have the option of paying people when yall feel like.

Come on, what do we need to do to get justice around here? Do we have to act in rage in order to get what’s rightfully ours?

Do we need to keep bashing the Government?.

It’s is sickening and over bearing PAY PEOPLE WAH ARE U HAB FOR THEM!!! Or just tell are we that are we money a use for subbin else and di account dry.

All these citizens paying Social Security weekly, bi-weekly and monthly and still can’t get a dollar mercy man.FIX UM JACK!!!!

  1. More people should pen to paper and let the PM know that what he is being told about being up to date is just a big lie.
So many times, have I warned the PM that things are not what they look like at Social Security and when the thing explodes it will be more than eggs in his face. Being in leadership has taught me to always have your eyes and ears on the ground. You cannot just listen to the Director or General Manager. They will tell you what they want you to know. And what I have always learned is to always have an external auditor go in and do an audit on the Cash Flows of the Company. As they say, follow the money.

  2. Social Security Financial transparency payments in Gaston Browne’s government, ohhh pleasssse!

There’s none in NAMCO, CIP and Antiguans still waiting for clarification regarding YIDA.

… And that’s just 4 for you folks!

WHEN HE’S GONE THERE WILL BE MUCH REJOICING ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY 🇦🇬

  3. I have stopped feeling sorry for you. You Gaston Browne to be gone so bad. I doubt you will be around that long. You be long gone to your grave. Pringle is Chairman of the Publics Account Commission. Ask him to look into all these things you want to know. Our System of Government does have its checks and balances. Whether you know it or not. And they, the opposition are asking questions of the PM every time the Parliament meets. So, you can also send in your questions to Pringle

    • For a free and vibrant Antigua & Barbuda to FLOURISH the Bird & Browne dynasties have to be voted out, dismantled and removed so that ALL citizens will benefit (including you Sidey) in the foreseeable future.

The ABLP just scrapped through at the last General Election and it’s just a matter of time before they are VOTED out of office for GOOD!

… THE WRITING’S ON THE WALL … AND YOU KNOW IT SIDEY!

BTW, DON’T FEEL SORRY FOR BRIXTONIAN – I AM BLESSED 🙏🏽

  4. We gave you all the credit in 2004 and by 2009 you had used up all your credit. And yes everyone will always remember what happen during the 2009 election. It was suppose to be held in April, but Baldwin dragged it out though June. Then we had the late opening of the polls. And No Inkt. But the judges ruled in your favor so no bi-elections were called. But then came 2014 and 2018 and you lost do badly, only to bone close in 2023. Nevertheless a win is a win. That’s how a democracy works. You can keep your hopes up high, good for you, but 2028 will be a much different story.

    • ABLP may will be still in charge come 2028, however how can Gassssston Browne SURVIVE with all his mismanagement and controversies that surround him?

Look at the current issues that have arisen since the January elections (incredible in just 9 months I believe).

The Prime Minister has managed to waste money on THREE airlines (the Nigerian airline fiasco, Air Peace and the ongoing delays in getting Liat airborne again).

The rising burglary rate since re-election, gun crime and rapes has also risen – and the nation still awaits a definitive response from him, unlike the Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

Also the tax payers $2,000 dollars a day utterly wasted on maintaining the Alpha Nero super yacht, when this money could be used to pay outstanding wages and pensions.

AND ALL THE ABOVE SINCE RETURNING TO OFFICE IN JANUARY 2023 @ Sidey … explain dat?

If Gaston can cause all the above problems in JUST 9 months, what the hell is in store for ALL Antiguans between now and 2028???

SCARY TIMES AHEAD DON’T YOU THINK?

      • I think you need to have your pill to calm you down and not live in your own world where the sky is always falling. As I said, I do not feel sorry for you anymore. Just know the economy is growing this year at 8-10%. We have a couple more months to finalize the figure. But all agencies are already complementing our leader for the remarkable job coming so shortly after Covid. But for you the sky is falling. So, you stay in your world. I’ll wake you up in 2028.
