I read something alarming in the Daily Observerrecently. Apparently ABS staff have not been paid overtime for six years? What a travesty!
Imagine all those carnival two week periods in between, when staff are going home bone tired the following day, after starting their shift the previous day, and no compensation?
I recall the staff protesting a couple times before the pandemic but they should rightfully have been kicking up dust every day since 2015.
It is so embarrassing and telling that a court has to inform management that these monies have to be paid. The people have already worked. There is no weasling out now. In my opinion that in itself shows incompetence, total disregard, wickedness or some combination of all three. Further, where are the court ordered original source documents?? How can easily tampered with or fabricated spreadsheets be all that is produced? Something is wrong.
To add salt to injury, the PS and Minister Nicholas, made the not only wrong but callous choice to fire staff in a pandemic, knowing that they owe them so much already?
Something stinks high at ABS and I hope we can finally weed out whatever is rotting and causing the stench.

What’s the total number of employees that left during this time by the way? Last I heard the turnover was so high, that list was long from here to Trinidad.
But if you not getting paid for the work you doing, and still living hand to mouth. I can understand now WHY everybody was running. Between no overtime and the daily sight of that picture daily, live and direct.

That picture has to be doctored. It must be fake. She doesn’t look that bad!!! By the way, the lady at the top must not be paid until all her workers are first paid. That’s simple reasoning. She is an employee of the people of Antigua, but in her position she should not be paid personally UNTIL all those who work there are paid first. That’s common sense.
