LETTER: A plea to my fellow Dawgs

Greetings Dawg !

Enough is enough. It is full time for you to desist in gunning down our love ones. What purpose is it serving?

Yes, times have change and as young people we are now living in a new dispensation.  Trying to prove a point by using the firearm and at the sametime trying to prove that we may be badder than our peer, makes no sense.

At the end of the day,  you are destroying yourselves, your families and the community and simultaneously, tearing down the good name of our country.

The landscape of this paradise has changed.  Antigua was never like this & it does not deserve this type of change neither. It was a place where we could freely chill, party & have fun anytime around the clock without looking over one’s shoulder.

Now, life in Antigua is different, persons are now living on the edge.  Our family members are living in alot more fear now, than ever before. The air has even become polluted with the question who will be next?

Dawg Let’s get real. Guns are not needed to solve problems. Work is available in its abundance. So money should not be an issue.

A plea is going out to all the Dawgs in the country, to put down the guns & desist in destroying the fabric of our communities and lets come together as one people, with aim and one destiny to make a better Antigua & Barbuda for all of us.

  2. From one Dawg to those on the other side, it seems. You guys have no self respect or pride and can only appeal to your fellow stray canines. In the meantime i pray that the armed forces and all brave men and women of this country find the courage and the means to eliminate this dawg culture from our midst, by any means necessary. Enough is Enough!

I doubt this letter was written by a young person trading themselves as aka “dawgs”, anyway whether or not the auther is a young, old, professional or ordinary person the message is very potent and should serve as a deterrent to all those who are guilty of perpetrating these henious sort of activities.

  4. I was never a badman (I knew that being bad didn’t take any educational dexterity), but growing up as a youngster, I knew of them; and one thing you can guarantee is that all this appealing to them to change their ways are falling on deaf ears.

    Their ‘Modus Operandi’ is all about making quick money by using fear and intimidation to make their victims give up what ever they have as soon as they can. They don’t give a s%#t!!!

    Now once our authority figures recognise this fact, then and only then will they be on the road to eventually eradicating these vermin.

  5. The Head Dawg doesn’t seem to be very influential at all, he should be able to get the others to follow his command and bring back the tranquility that we are accustomed to but I guess a dawg cannot change his spots
