In light of the recent tragedy surrounding the abduction and murder of 9-year-old Chantel Crump, it has come to my attention that the public’s appreciation has predominantly focused on Bonita Williams for her efforts in the search. While I commend Ms. Williams for her dedication, I believe it is essential to also recognize another key individual who played a significant role in this operation: John C. Hopper.
As a member of the search party from the outset, I witnessed firsthand the determination and leadership that Mr. Hopper exhibited. He took swift action to organize the search efforts, galvanizing the community in support of Chantel’s family during an unimaginably difficult time. Mr. Hopper’s ability to mobilize volunteers, coordinate logistics, and keep spirits high amidst overwhelming sorrow was instrumental in the search process.
While public acknowledgment is well-deserved, I urge our community to broaden its recognition to include Mr. Hopper, whose selfless dedication reflects the true spirit of communal support in times of crisis. It’s vital that we honor all those who contributed to the search for Chantel, as they represent the unity and compassion that can emerge in even the darkest of circumstances.
Let us not forget the collective efforts that strive to bring hope to grieving families. Together, we can ensure that every contributor to such noble causes is remembered and appreciated.

Can we let the girl body rest? the search has been long over and the media is in a roar about who helped finding Chantel. let’s be fro real right now. we need justice for this child. Bonita in fact did an excellent job with her lives and keeping the public informed. even with the protest. Now that it’s all over its not necessary to be calling for recognition right now. what we really want is Jungle Justice for Chantel. we want the @$$h0le$ behond this killed, executed.
Who would’ve thought that Chantel’s case would turn out to be ” A call for recognition” instead of a call for justice. Let’s just say everyone did a great job in assisting the police with their search. Would we have found her body without that criminal girl? not so fast. So let’s turn our attention on the justice system and not on who helped with the search. we want just so let’s make a call for justice. #DEATHPENALTY

Why seek personal gratification? I am almost sure that the two individuals named are not asking for this. They saw a need that they were skilled to fill and they did what needed to be done. Let that part lie.
Focus on the next phase or phases. Keep your eyes peeled for the next one those terrible people try to grab and keep your phones and other apparatuses handy so that they can be identified.
Focus on teaching our young ones how to act when approached, how to say NO! to offerings, to say what they see.
This is still ACTION TIME, people, no time for back clapping or social climbing.
What happened to community togetherness , “It takes a village to raise a kid ” recognition everyone thumping them toe over recognition I am sure Chantel family thank everyone who help in the search we all wish it was a better result. Now all we need is justice for Chantel Crump. Right now the legality of this case are getting weak,put this unity into pressuring the government for justice for Chantel Crump.
What-Mr. Hopper ? not a single person deserves any recognition. A child was abducted and it was everyone of us duty and responsibility to try and find here alive.
She was brutally murdered and her family is in anguish.
So what is this about praising people, tapping on the back as if she was rescued ( alive and unharmed).
I have never read such a foolish article. Antigua news room you should have known better. The focus should be on supporting the family , close friends and the students of her school. Then putting things in place to try and prevent a reoccurrence. “ The Chantel Alert”

Yeah it’s just sad that something just happened last week ppl looking to be praised for the good that they have done.
What us being done to protect other children or helpless individuals from such a demise in the future. Let Chantal Rest but use thos horrendous act as an eye opener for being our hrothees keeper. See something day something. Suspect something act accordingly. Our children are our future WE NEED TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE THEM. Show them love not hate kindness not pain tolerance not aggression.
