Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter because I am disgusted and alarmed at the things being done by the Police in our beautiful country.
It seems to be that NO ONE is in charge. It is a free for all of out of control and corrupt officials. And Magistrates who sign Search Warrants with shoddy evidence.

I live at Barnes Hill and I was awaken at about 6am Saturday to a frightening incident. 6 Police vehicles, about 13 to 15 officers with big guns surrounded a neighbours house.
I thought there was murder or something going on. Only to be told that there was an accusation that one of the occupants of the home, was accused of a credit card scam.
Yes you heard me. Not guns. Not drugs. Not murder. A minor blue collar crime. And that called for 15 officers, guns and 6 vehicles? With all the armed robberies, murders, break-ins, unsolved murders, disappearing persons etc, is this really the focus and use of the resources of the Police?
I hope that these two young people who were treated this alarming way, sue the hell out of the AG, the government and the Police.
I am warning the government that if we do not clean up the Police Force, this country will continue to go to hell. We have ongoing demonstrations over the recent killing of an 18 year old by the Police which has been treated with scant regard by the Police and the government. If this out of control Police force is allowed to thrive, we are going to hell in a basket.

I mean they are supposed to be armed to protect themselves…They have no idea who is in the house and who maybe armed…. A credit card scam could possibly lead to other law breaking activities….But at the same time I highly doubt they needed all those vehicles and officers as claimed….I strongly believe 4 officers could of gone to handle that because you may need the extra strength jus incase of resistance…
My thing is the police only seems excited when it come to drugs and them kind of things. but to do there work to protect the people they swore to protect they don’t have vehicle. imagine a tourist made a complain about a local taking her property and the police sitting down on there behind get ya guns and go look for the missing people how about the look for the guns that ppl use to rob the people in this country
The author of this article and those who blindly support their foolishness are a part of the problem we have in this country. You don’t know what information the police had in addition to the alleged credit card fraud….
Support the police in fighting crime and making our country a safer and better place to live.

I applaud the citizen who wrote this letter. More people should raise their voices. Supporters of the Police will come on here with their supporting crap. The essence of this letter is that with so much serious crime, armed robberies, missing persons etc, this is how the Police mis-use their power and resources. That is the point. When citizens have serious problems, the Police have no transport. When robberies happen in the same general areas, the Police are missing. But for an alleged blue collar crime, they have vehicles, a gang of officers and guns. But where the real violent crime is happening, they are no where to be found. The Police Force has no accountability. Anyone who finds this acceptable is encouraging a situation like what is going on in Trump’s America, where the rule of law has been overtaken by anarchy.
While the number of officers may seem excessive to some given all that is going on today, the police don’t know who else or what they are going to find while executing the search warrant.
Plenty things happen in line of sight of plenty of us, yet when police comes and ask questions, we never see or know or hear nutten, but they must be effective in carrying out their duties. I will not say sometimes they are not excessive, but is we who cause our own demise as well when we do not report what we see or know. It’s only affecting us when it hits home for us, then we want them to walk on water. This is an “US” problem. We ALL need to be accountable. Also, we do not know if this credit card fraud situation had other arms and legs on it.

Anyone who can say that there is an ounce of brain in the entire Police Force must be also missing a brain. It is a corrupt, indifferent and ineffective body. Look at the high rate of unsolved murders and missing persons. Look at all the crimes daily on ANR – most of the other media hardly ever carry crime reports. Thanks ANR. The Police Force is a mess that must be purged. But who will bell the cat? Certainly not Cutie. And certainly not this government. The UPP saw the problem and tried by bringing in the Canadians but that worked only in part as the will was not there to make the hard decisions. This calls for strong leadership.
I support the police 100% . We must have zero tolerance to any crime.
