Police Continue Investigations into the Death of 18-Year-Old Kahleel Simon
St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Thursday, 28 August 2025
The police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding death of Kahleel Simon of Bolans.
The 18-year-old lost his life during a police shooting incident at Bolans on Wednesday, 27 August.
The matter remains under active investigation, and is now being treated as a Coroner’s Case, where a Coroner’s Inquest is expected to be conducted.
Acting Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers has expressed his deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Kahleel Simon. He is assuring the family and the wider Bolans community that a full, thorough, and transparent investigation is being conducted.
The police are appealing to members of the public who may have information that could assist in the ongoing investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).

So the police had an operation in the area and the deceased was shot. Whilst the exact circumstances are still being investigated, it would be counter productive to have the police investigate itself. It is important that the general public are comfortable knowing that the chips will fall wherever they may. The police don’t always get it right and when the make mistakes they ought to man up and own up to them. The next couple of days would be decisive .

Justice for Mannie James. Justice for Bruce Greenaway. All of them were killed by stinking cops. We hate police. Wicked bunch of criminals in suits.
So basically it will go nowhere. JunJun was also killed by police on his birthday a few weeks ago and we ain’t heard anything since. Seems like local police turn judge and executioner.

The tragic shooting of young Kahleel Simon demands justice. We call on you to ensure a full and transparent investigation that brings the officers responsible to justice. Do not close ranks. The public is watching, and we expect you to allow justice to prevail.
If justice is not served, the public’s trust in the police force and its leadership will be severely damaged, and it will be a betrayal of the principles of justice and righteousness that you preach.
Officers who kill people and commit other crimes need to be held accountable just like the rest of us. Otherwise they will believe that they have a license to do whatever they want. You will claim that this is just the work of a few bad apples, but what of the officers who stand by and do nothing while they commit offences against the people they encounter? and the police department like yours who refuse to prosecute these criminals as they would one of the citizens that they are sworn to protect. People have had enough of this corruption and violence from an organization that promises to keep them safe. After the events of the past few years, many people are now beginning to learn that you are not here to save us, but rather you are here to oppress us and carry out the will of criminal ruling class. You are here to keep order for the people in control, not to provide safety for the people who are being controlled. In fact, you are the very mechanism that elites use to continue their regional system of oppression and the country is finally starting to wake up to this. And they are becoming increasingly angry every time they see blood needlessly spilled without consequence.

I want the government to get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights to help with solving crime, the police will have a lead on things in the different areas
I have no idea, of the circumstances surrounding this shooting. It’s a tragic situation but innocent people don’t run from police. The escalation in criminal activities which includes the use of guns have put ALL PEOPLE in the Nation at risk of getting hurt or even killed.
The police has being placed, in a precarious position. Their work at this juncture in the development of the Nation has got to be very stressful.
Situations such as these will continue to happen because FRUSTRATION is off the chain on all sides and the fact, that the CULTURE, the habits of people have changed so drastically where DANGER is lurking just about everywhere, FEAR will play a key role in people’s decision makings.
Again, I have no idea, as to the circumstances surrounding this case, therefore, my thoughts are not about this case in particular but about the…
…HABITS, of the Culture which were observed decades ago and the WARNING BELLS (thoughts of the possibility that we would be facing many situations such as this) were sounded out LOUD & CLEAR. Many of us used our EXPERIENCES, knowledge, wisdom to sound these alarm bells or WARNINGS but many thought, that we would never reach this stage.
Well folks we are sliding further and further down the SLIPPERY ROAD to PERDITION, and those behind the wheels driving on this road don’t know how to handle the machine which they’re operating under these circumstances. To them, it like driving in a snow blizzard for the first time while operating a VITZ with rear wheel drive only.
I’m not making excuses for the police. Again, their hands are tied in a pressure cooker (lack of proper training, lack of equipment/tools to perform their tasks, pressure from the public to protect them and solve ALL CRIMES INSTANTLY); they’re not MAGICIANS nor STUNTMEN/WOMEN performing SCRIPTED ACTS, in a theatrical production. They’re dealing with LIVE and at times DEADLY SITUATIONS.
Again, INNOCENT PEOPLE don’t run away from what they’re doing. They STAND THEIR GROUND and face their adversaries, no matter what it is or who they’re dealing with.

@as smood are you serious so shooting someone that’s running away and killing them is okay.. maybe the kid had drugs on him, why are we like this ? why we can’t show empathy for humans even those who do wrong ..
According to posts I have read, the police were carrying out an ‘operation’ in the area. I would ask, what type of operation? Then I also read it was a ‘high-speed chase’ that apparently started in St. John’s. How does that square off with an ‘operation’ in the village of Bolans?
If it was a high-speed chase there should be footage somewhere along the route that would show that high-speed chase.
If there was a legitimate ‘operation’ why not clear the street of pedestrian and other human traffic?
Then there is the suggestion that the deceased young man was carrying either an imitation gun or a real gun. Where is it? Has that item been retrieved?
We have so many questions. In the meantime a family is left grieving and a community is left with growing uncertainty of confidence in the police force.
This issue, like many others before it, calls for an Independent Inquiry. Justice must not only be done but must be SEEN to be done.

Again, I have no knowledge of the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident. The TRUTH of this REALITY, is decades ago, when [idiots] like me (that’s what many thought we were), saw the SIGNS, read the tea leaves, analysed the dead bones of our fore parents and their CULTURE, there was an obvious shift in the thought processes, of those #who’re molding our culture and those who were caught up unsuspectingly in it.
Wisdom dictated, that this knowledge was shared and it was; but…
…you can lead a donkey to the ghaut, but you cannot force it to drink.
…to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
Therefore, the TRUTH, of the REALITY when it comes to those who have had their boots on the ground before it was trendy on Tik Toc, Instagram, Truth Social, X etc, we know these incidents were inevitable. This is a WAR, even if it may not seem like it to some, but it’s already in the Nation’ House, not at its doorstep; and, in any war, there will be CASUALTIES, and another one will bite the dust and it could be me being hit by a stray bullet, stabbed for no reason. Guess what, I’m willing to live with the TRUTH of this REALITY, as I dig three(3) graves. One for me, one for my adversary and one for my JUMBEE (can’t have this roaming and tormented lost sheeple).
