All Saints East and St Luke, long regarded as a stronghold of the United Progressive Party (UPP), is expected to be a closely contested seat in the upcoming general election.

Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate Lamin Newton is mounting a challenge against Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle, who represents the constituency.

The seat has been held by the UPP for more than 30 years, making it one of the party’s safest. However, Mr Newton says support on the ground is shifting.

Speaking after the ABLP’s campaign launch on Tuesday, he expressed confidence that momentum is building in his favour.

  1. I wonder if Lamin has seen the voter registration numbers? Please, all the turncoats will get turned away

  2. Wishful thinking, I am certain Laming is depending on the election largesse to get him elected because that is the only currency they have and have depended on it for years. Cannot really swear to it but understand the bucks have started sharing clandestinely. Resist the temptation. We are better than that

  3. LAMIN NEWTON,AFTER ALL THOSE NASTY THINGS YOU DID SAY ABOUT GASTON BROWNE AND THE LABOR PARTY.HOW DOES IT FEEL TO BE IN BED WITH HIS PARTY? DID YOU HAVE TO KNEEL, BOW DOWN AND KISS HIS RING?
