POLICE INVESTIGATE FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON FORT ROAD

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda — Tuesday, May 6, 2025

The police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of 45-year-old Allissa Chiddick of Martin’s Village.

The incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on Labour Day, Monday, May 5, in the vicinity of Millaz Beach Bar and Restaurant on Fort Road.

It is alleged that the victim attempted to board a trailer truck travelling west to east along Fort Road when she accidentally fell beneath the rear wheels of the vehicle.

She sustained multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 5:30 p.m.

A postmortem examination will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Police Administration sincerely regrets this tragic incident and extends heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Allissa Chiddick during this difficult time.

Meanwhile, the police are once again urging the public to exercise extra caution and prioritize safety during festive events.

Drivers and operators of trailer trucks are also reminded to ensure their vehicles are properly equipped with appropriate safety measures and protective barriers to prevent injuries or loss of life.
