Kyle Taylor, Candace Sawyers Remanded on Murder Charge

Two Mack Pond residents have been remanded in custody on a murder charge linked to the death of 35-year-old Sheldon Dias.

Kyle Taylor, 29, and Candace Sawyers, 30, appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel, represented by attorney Wendel Alexander, and were remanded until August 26.

Police allege Dias suffered multiple injuries during an altercation at Mack Pond, All Saints, on June 5. Taylor and Sawyers have been jointly charged in connection with his death.

  2. Neither any of accused or the deceased are from All Saints. I was told that there is an area on the eastern side of Mock Pond where there are hundreds of squatters- few of whom are from All Saints or Antigua as a matter of fact. So the native people from All Saints or those that lived there for quite a while don’t know these people.
    Hey I am not saying that the lost of lives and the incarceration of two young adults- parents at that in their most productive years is not hurtful. All lives matter- Black lives matter to me even more as a black person. Knowing of our history and struggles we have been through to get where we are today.
    To see my people killing each other, abusing our women and children, stealing both violent robberies and white collar- to include our politicians, it hurts. Drug abuse amongst our people on the increase- young men walking aimlessly since we gave them to right to grow and smoke marijuana as they like. Yes the horse already bolted. Now we want to sop the smoking in public space.
    Hey I like solutions- We need to go back to basics. Back to church- Sunday and Sabbath school. Back to being our neighbors keeper.
    The political parties should not just decide who is going to represent us in parliament. We need a better system- from the village council upwards.
    We need cameras mounted on strategic positions, throughout the country. Hey we need people uncharge that care about our communities, about our people.

  6. @ Truth Seeker – I believe they do it to avoid compromising the case as the defense may be able to claim the impossibility of a fair trial. Remember they are innocent until proven guilty and when or if they are convicted. There should be pictures
