Kiz Johnson Wins ABLP Primary in St. Phillip’s South
Kiz Johnson has secured the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) nomination in St. Phillip’s South after winning Sunday’s primary with 167 votes.
Johnson topped a four-way race that included Malcolm Charles, who received 113 votes; Adrian Richardson, who finished with 49; and former minister Lennox Weston, who garnered 44.
With the victory, Johnson becomes the ABLP candidate and caretaker for the constituency and is expected to appear on the party’s slate for the next general election.
Party officials closed the count late Thursday, confirming Johnson’s decisive lead as supporters celebrated the outcome.

Congratulations Kiz was a bit worried because of the usual corrupt practices in these primaries. You will make a good politician. You have ended Lennox Weston political career and next you will end Bowen’s- new era.
I remember having a conversation with her over dinner in May of 2024 where I suggested to her to consider running for public office. She exclaimed, “Not a chance!” I replied with, “Never say never.” When she decided to run, she called me immediately to let me know that she has decided to take the plunge. She was hoping that the people would support her. She and the team worked tirelessly, even by creating a long term plan for the benefit of the constituency.
Here we are at the inflection point. She has won the primary, now the real work begins. All the candidates must coalesce to bring this seat home to another female to enter the Lower House.

Congrats to Kiz. You took down one former MP Lenny Weston and I am predicting that you will take down the sitting PM Bowen Sheffield Bowen with a wider margin.
The people are looking for representation. After both of these guy win their seats they disappear. You are a solid candidate. UPP needs to take note of the caliber of candidates that ABLP is attracting. The only good candidate that UPP have attracted in recent times is Ashworth Azille. The young lady that wanted to run against Dorell Mathew- don’t remember her name. She would have been a solid candidate. Barbra Coates was an exceptional candidate, heard her on the platform up Pares Village. When you are rebuilding, you don’t put old wine in new bottle. Harold even if he wins his seat will not make a difference in the larger scheme of things. Since a few of your sitting PMs are going to lose their seats. At this point I only see Shugy and maybe Pringle. So if you add Harold to that you are going to have less seats. I am waiting on the boundaries commission to see what new mess they are coming up with.
By the way I still like D. Gisele Isaac more then any politician in the UPP party and executive. She is the only person that is carrying the fight in a sustainable manner against Gaston Browne and the ABLP administration. By the way she is the only person in that UPP party right now with solid leadership qualities in my view. She would never have gone into bed with Gaston right had man- Baba. Magic you are so correct, when I heard my personal friend house was being built by Baba . Who is not a contractor by any stretch of the imagination. I right him off as having corrupt ambitions. Pringle why in the world you get Baba to build your house. That is worst than Anthony Smith resigning. At least he resigned and went into bed. You are supposedly leading and in bed with the UPP most corrupt messaging. The same VechicleGate scandal that I personally think deserves an independent and transparent investigation- the same Baba hand is all over that.
So again D.Gisele as you have been doing from the last election until now. Having to be pleading with these power hungry donkeys to stay on team. Tell Pringle to cut that relationship immediately or resign. The party also needs Pringle to come clean- examine that construction agreement and the free stuff he is trying to get. Greedy!

Sorry, Mam, but I feel for you. All that talent will be wasted because you WILL become a rubber stamp for Gaston Brown. You have much potential. It is a pity.
