I am not condoning his behaviour, it was morally wrong. And I do commend the officer for acting in the manner in which he did, professionally, and continue doing his work. A lot of respect from me to him to be able to do that. I pray other officers follow.

The Golden Grove resident was charged with Insulting Language (he has a right to express his feelings as long as they were not threatening, this charge is unconstitutional and inappropriate), Failure to comply with lawful directions (what was the specific direction?) , Indecent Language (freedom of speech), Failure to produce a valid drivers licence (should be dismissed if he has one), Disorderly Conduct by making noise (freedom of speech and was his noise above those noise being made at that moment in that specific area?), Resufing to give name (was there a lawful reason to at that time?), and Resufing to give address (no address exist in Antigua and Barbuda, his address is Antigua, there is nothing more specific he can give, as the country has no proper address system). The offences occurred at Long Street on 28 December, 2024.

The accused was being ticketed for a traffic violation when he began hurling several expletives at a traffic police officer. Despite his insults and appalling conduct, the traffic officer kept his composure and professionalism throughout the ordeal. This officer has done well, do not diminish this officer’s professionalism by abusing the law and the police’s authority for revenge.

Properly charge, if charges are appropriate, but do not over charge, and use unconstitutional charges. We are in 2025, no personal shall be charged for expressing anger through words we do not like but pose no harm to the public or individuals.

Sometimes in life people have to suffer the consequences of their actions and this might just be an example. The Laws of Antigua & Barbuda Small Charges Act Chapter 405 makes provision for ALL of the offences he was charged for and to be honest I do believe if he didn’t post his encounter it might hv been swept under the carpet even though his apology was BS. However he brought light to the entire situation and probably thought that because MOST people don’t like police that he would hv been supported but things actually back fired. Now the good thing is that because they are all small charges they wouldn’t really be any serious indictment on him. Really just hope that he learned from the encounter and make better choices when dealing with any situation in the future.

I have seen on many occasions these same tráffic ndividuals targeting drivers and they even tell their friends who look out for you.Even the tráfico police it may have been more than one instance of interfersnce causing such an outburst.
What the government need to do is to train dem properly.what professional,I have dealt and know how they are spiteful.
