Prime Minister Gaston Browne is equating the alleged abduction of twins girls to a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in the alleged mother’s mind during sleep.
“The lady clearly needs help,” Browne said when questioned about the issue on his radio show over the weekend.
He said those arguing for Keoma Hamer on social media must ask themselves “whether the story that Ms Hamer has presented is not a credible dream.”
“It could have been that this lady had a credible dream and she consider it to be factual,” he told radio listeners.
The Guyanese woman said she believes her twins were stolen from the Holberton Hospital in 2004 when they were born prematurely.
Officials have said that Hamer who now resides in St. Martin, had a spontaneous abortion and the twins died.
Hamer has identified two girls, one in Antigua and one abroad which she says could be the stolen twin girls.
An investigation is ongoing into the allegations made by her and authorities have said she has been invited to give DNA samples.
Browne said “if Ms. Hamer is able to provide any credible evidence that her twins are alive, as a responsible government, we will ensure that we do all in our power to recover those twins and to bring the people to justice.”
He asked “why would you want to cover up something like that, for whose benefit?”
“We have to be sensitive of Ms Hamer’s situation even if she has some form of temporary mental illness to deal with or even if she considers her claim to be credible and it is no.”
The mother one of the girls identified on social media by Hamer has brought forward evidence to show that the child is hers. A recent DNA test also confirmed that Hamer is not the mother.
“I find our people to be totally insensitive to the Antiguan family,” Browne said suggesting that this could be because the woman against who the allegations are made is Guyanese.
“It is of no consequence that they were born in Guyana. I mean can we not show some sympathy for our own. Why would be want to join a non-belonger, I mean we don’t know Ms Hamer.”

That’s the # 1 question -Why the big cover up by everyone..Makes absolutely no sense..Instead of the public giving the young lady all kinds of false hope,it would be best that she be encouraged to seek some help..It is clear that she had a traumatic experience and it has left her in a state of denial…From day one i heard that story it sounded like a script straight from a Soap Opera..However the then administrators of Holberton should answer some questions-because had the records been readily available,this saga would be ended just as it began..
My experience has been that unless one has plenty patience, dealing with some hospital, MBS or some health ministry officials will drive one nutty.
Who more mental, the person(s) who said the child was adopted in Dominica and Dominica defended themselves from this matter, then comes up saying the DNA test shows the supposenly adopted mother is the real mother or Mr. Keoma Hamer for seeking the truth?
Exactly, my point. Also to answer the question: why cover up? Well, very simple. If the allegations are proven to be true, rest assured that Antigua’s government will have a lawsuit on its shoulders. So, there’s a motive to keep this covered up.

Unfortunately, this case continues to unfold as a ‘topic of gossip’ to the general public which is what feeds the idea that something sinister had occurred. I for one would like to piece together why she never received death certificates and a few more misterios. I don’t like feeling like it’s a whole country against one woman. But come on #TeamHamer, why would the government ‘cover-up’ such a thing.
We do not give death certificates for pregnancies which ended via miscarriage aka spontaneous abortions (note the term used in Dr. John’s letter)
@Just trolling- i stand to be corrected,but i do not think Death certificates are issued for still born babies,but the Hospital is to blamed partly for this saga,they should be some record of at least her admission and what was done to her while there..Aside from that,i am almost convinced that there is no conspiracy and the Babies were not stolen..
Who could take twin babies weighing less than a pound and hide them? This woman was very sick and I’m sure heavily sedated. She is basing her truth on the stories of some very horrible people who mean her no good.
I hope she gets the therapy she so desperately needs.
One “twin” is 32 yo and the other has been proven to be the child of her natural parent.

@Voice of reason-I have asked that question many times before,what did the nurse do with the babies? it would take the entire NICU to be apart of this in order to pull this off..It is nonsense,makes no sense..

It is customary for them to give the mother the dead child to view to get closure. This was not done. Why? All deaths must be registered. Where is the registration of their birth and death?
Where is the proof of hospitalization of the young lady?
If all these are filed , not in new ink on old paper, then people would be tempted to believe all this is just a dream!

As far as paperwork please note even in the US, you are not required by law to hold dated medical records for adults, pass 10 years

This situation is out of control enough is enough. Keoma just wants answers. The name calling, the criticism and the judgements from a prime minister should be eradicated in a public apology. Something happened to Keoma and her twin she never got information, confirmation she came back to pay not too long after she was not in the system where are the records? FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT should be able to produce the hospital bill and whether it was paid i am sure Audits were done. Where or how were the bodies disposed there are kids born more premature and survived it is strange 7 month twins died however just show her the paper work. She is confused present her the evidence prime minister. Where is a copy of the DNA why was it done dung a yard? Where is proof this mother was pregnant? Why do nonchalant?
