Kenyan High Court Blocks Government’s Police Deployment to Haiti, Citing Legal Limits on National Security Council’s Authority

2

The Kenyan High Court has halted the government’s initiative to dispatch police officers to combat gangs in Haiti, citing the National Security Council’s lack of authority for such deployments.

The judge clarified that the council is limited to deploying military forces and emphasized the distinction, allowing military, but not police, deployment for international peacekeeping missions.

Kenya, which had volunteered to lead a multinational security force to address gang violence in Haiti, faces an appeal from its government in response to the court’s decision.

  1. … And Gassssston continues to deploy our police in Haiti 🇭🇹 while the crime rate continues to rise here at home.

If he’s trying to become the worst Prime Minister since Lester Bird, it looks like he’s on his way.
