A 40-year-old man is in hospital after being shot during an incident in John Hughes early on Sunday.

Police identified the injured man as Kenroy Telemacque. He was struck in the right buttock and taken to hospital, where doctors carried out scans and X-rays to determine the extent of his injuries.

Officers have not yet confirmed whether the gunfire came from law enforcement or another individual. Initial reports suggest Telemacque may have been attempting to break into a private home when he was shot.

Hospital officials said he is in stable condition, though further medical updates are expected.

Police say their investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is continuing.

  1. Y’all police reports are so lame its not even funny, whenever I read an article, I’m left asking so many questions.
Can’t these police do better in their reports, can someone please remind them that other people Luke myself reads and want to understand what exactly happened, where exactly it happened, how exactly it happened.
    Jeeez

  2. Another regular occurrence in GANGSTERS PARADISE, it nar go change till arwe change de leaders, a cuss pon dem, check out de amount ah Judas in de organization misnamed ABLP.

  3. A sinner needs salvation thats who he is, some strongholds can’t be broken just like that. I pray for him that the Spirit of God may rescue him and others reading and writing comments. His sins are exposed while others are not exposed as yet. May true repentance be found in all.

Changing government doesn’t change people’s mindset, people do what they want to, being driven by their own entice and lusts.

Come to Jesus all ye people 🙏

  4. @Concerned resident
Are you okay mentally? Are there any resources I can assist you with?
The POLICE DO NOT WRITE THESE …. THE REPORTERS AND MEDIA TEAM AT ANR WROTE THEM WITH THE LIMITED INFORMATION THEY RECEIVE

  5. The government should get solar powered streetlight with camera combination out of china to replace all existing streetlights system and help the police solve crime.

  6. Why keep us in suspense? A thief tried to break into a private property and was shot in the buttocks, am not a scientist but am gonna make the assumption he was shot by someone other than the police.

  7. @Eldread, most of the thieves are covering their faces now. You’ll need specialized cameras like facial recognition ones and even those can cause the wrong person to be arrested. It’s a sad day when I feel safer at home in the US than I do in Antigua.

You are so wrong. The leaders of a country can have a positive influence on the people therein. Not everyone will do the right thing, no administration can stop criminal activity completely, but when the people observe the unlimited corruption, nepotism go unchecked abuse they lose hope and don’t give a shit

  9. Well highlighted Mr Byam, I couldn’t agree more.

In the run-up to the last General Election, many critical thinking Antiguans were very concerned at the speed of the newly arrived migrants being given passports LEFT, RIGHT and CENTRE; and it didn’t need a genius to know that we were going to reap what the ABLP sowed way back then.

IS IT ANY WONDER THAT BROWNE REFUSES TO ADDRESS THE NATION ABOUT THE RISING CRIME RATE???

  10. Finally the pain in the Ass has a Pain in his Ass.. stop trying to Steal people hard earn assets hope you turn the other cheek. ouch!! ..

  11. This boy always doing foolishness! 40 years old and still running round causing trouble—come on, man, grow up, People like Telemacque give John Hughes a bad name. Why risk your life and everyone else’s peace for nothing?

  12. Ah boy, Kenroy really thought he was going in for a little casual house visit… next thing you know, he walking out with a hole in his butt! Only in John Hughes y’know, where even a ‘quick peek’ can turn into a hospital trip. I swear, next time he try that, he better bring a proper invitation or at least a nice plate of saltfish

  13. A shot in the ass is always good. Depends on who is giving it. In this case its the police. I see they didn’t want to kill him. But truly this dude must stop the “assness”

  14. Shelly we need to cut the police some slack. They are trying here. Let them try. As for that tief …he real tief…someone will kill mr one say

  15. ( whether the wound was inflicted by law enforcement officers)
Wait a minute! since when police respond in an expeditious manner , that a would be robber can be shot on the spot/ during the act?
Did Telemaque break into the home of a cop, a cop’s friend or a cop’s relative?
