Governor General Reappoints Chairman and Member of Police Service Commission

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda – November 4, 2024

His Excellency Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, has reappointed Senior Attorney-at-Law, Mr. Kelvin John, as Chairman of the Police Service Commission, along with retired Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. James Hill as a Member. The re-appointment ceremony took place at Government House in the presence of distinguished guests, underscoring the Commission’s commitment to safeguarding the integrity and discipline of the Police Force as outlined in Sections 104 and 105 of the Constitution.

In his remarks, His Excellency highlighted Mr. John’s long standing dedication and leadership, which have been instrumental in upholding the standards and effectiveness of the Police Force. The Governor General urged the Commission members to continue its work with integrity, impartiality, and diligence in supporting the nation’s law enforcement.

  1. Seriously???? Do not re-appoint that [. ] She is toxic to the police force. Find capable and non-bias individuals who will not play with people’s future or the police force will soon start recruiting in the other islands because of brain drain. Almost all the confusion in the police force is because of that witch!

  2. Again, it is folks with advance degree in police science or criminology or criminal justice and other social sciences, like MBA, MPA etcetera should be in these seats.

    Why are only the old people getting a chance? What happened to the young folks? It is time the ABLP see value in the younger and innovative population, with recent degrees, who have knowledge of the most update research and information in the field.

    Obviously, the ‘…COMMENT’ by ‘…Keep Crying Pompey,’ is one that ‘…RAWLSTON POMPEY’ could safely and uncontradictably describe, as that uttered by ‘…AN UNNOTICED CAGED MONKEY.’

    NEEDS TO KNOW

    Though no ‘…CAGED MONKEY’ shall know, obligingly, this comment is intended only to him/her, so identified and so named.

    Certainly, not for my social media friend, ‘…SANDRA CLARKE.’

    VINDICTIVELY FORCED ON LEAVE

    The official records will not only show, but it would also be confirmed by his then ‘…Deputy Commissioner of Police, JAMES HILL,’ along with ’17-other junior-ranked officers, that were apparently ‘…VINDICTIVELY FORCED ON A 90-DAY UN-APPLIED FOR VACATION LEAVE,’ ‘…Rawlston Pompey’ not only:

    (a) ‘…Took the principled position, but also the ‘…HIGH GROUND:

    (b) …Enjoyed ‘ÁLL’ professionally earned and accrued ‘…VACATION LEAVE: then

    (c) …VOLUNTARILY RETIRED FROM HIS CHOSEN CAREER.’

    The official records will also show that the ‘…OTHER 18-PERSONNEL,’ including ‘…DEPUTY COMMISSIONER, JAMES HILL, returned to the ‘…POLICE SERVICE,’ having, possibly, enjoyed the ‘…FORCED 90-DAY VACATION LEAVE.’

    There are really ‘…NO QUALMS’ with individual Commissioners on the august body. Even so, ‘…VICTIMIZING ILLS shall be highlighted, including that being experienced by ‘…POLICE WELFARE CHAIRPERSON, MARILYN HARRIS,’ as recently publicly raised by ‘…POLICE MINISTER, SIR STEADROY ‘ÇUTIE’ OLIVERO BENJAMIN.’

To reappoint Madam Claudette Mason to serve another five years as a member of the Police Service Commission to me it’s toxic we cannot allow the vindictiveness to continue let us make the change now my choice to replace her is Mary Greenway a former Superintendent who was a Staff Officer also the Comadante in Chief of B Division once one of the finest investigator in the Criminal Investigating Department
