United Progressive Party Political Leader Jamale Pringle warmly welcomes Kelton Dalso to his slate of Caretakers, following the Primary held in St. George on Monday night, January 19.
Although the number actually eligible to vote was small – 16 Branch members – Pringle commends all those who turned out for the Primary and is encouraged by their interest in restoring the St. George unit to its recent glory.
“I am confident that Bro. Dalso has the energy and commitment needed not only to take the Branch forward but to keep the St. George seat in the column of the United Progressive Party,” the Political Leader says.
“He’s a son of St. George, a well-known businessman, a team player, and no novice to politics or national affairs,” he says of Dalso, who recently was called to the Bar of England and Wales.
MP Pringle also extends his appreciation to Kem Riley and Jermaine Kentish, the other two contenders, for their interest in representing the Party, and thanks the Branch’s Executive for their professional handling of this matter.

This primary should be done over. To only need 9 votes to win a primary in UPP is a joke, and it is an insult to the St. George’s, which is the largest constituency in Antigua.

From my point of view, and for what I’ve seen from this corrupt leader and his band of merry men over the last 6 years or so, we do need a change of administration/leadership.
We need people who are honest enough to be just decent people, if not, Antigua will be doomed going forward.
So all I’m interested in right now, is that these are honest people the UPP are picking, because that is what’s dooming Antigua right now, corruption!
The corruption just have to go. Money will always be around to be made in Antigua, but how do we manage the peoples money is the most important thing in any government.
Just look at any country and their collapsed, including many of our African brothers with all their resources, and you will see what has cause their development and in many cases their collapsed.
They days of good honest men must come back in the islands of the Caribbean, must!
We cannot survive in this world with dishonest people at the helm, cannot!
Money will always be made, that’s a fact, but we need good honest leaders who are going to be transparent about the spending, and Antigua has not have that in its most detrimental moment.
We should have been building right now, or at least being already built, not here about to start from scratch.
The people are not necessarily asking for change, they are more asking for honesty,and this government has not shown that.
Good intentions isn’t just enough anymore.
Couple their dishonesty with the blatant ineptitude of some of their ministers, and this administration has to go.
They have failed the people, and have down right stolen people’s money.. Billions came into this tiny island, and many has nothing to show for it. that’s a fact.
They are out here blaming Brian drain and all this nonsense, instead of develop and train the people with are left with. From what I know, the population of Antigua has grown significantly in the last 20 years, so their are enough brains to develop, but government has failed. Instead we have weed as our main source of recreational habits amongst our kids.
When I was growing up, and in a even more pourer times, I knew how to plant, cultivate, and take care of myself. You ask any kid on the streets of Antigua right now if they know how to even plant some tomatoes, they look at you strange.
There is enough people in Antigua, so therefore there are a lot of brains to develop ,so develop those brains. That’s the job of the education ministry.
