Jurors in the Kelly Friday murder trial have found him not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter for fatally stabbing his uncle, Selwyn Mannix.
The margin was 7-2 after more than 5 hours of deliberation.
The defense argued self-defense and questioned Mannix’s cause of death due to his COVID-positive status.
Kelly Friday is set to be sentenced on April 19.

The wheel of justice…man’s justice is sometimes crooked…didn’t mean to murder him but he dead anyway….so he convicted of slaughtering the man.
No sorry dey. The man is dead and as far as I’m concerned, dead is dead. Manslaughter is a charge used to make light of killer’s work.
The uncle was supposed to be a professional fisherman with a very nice boat, he had no right to in an argument for $50 especially with a family member, sometimes we just have to walk away from certain things I think it was rather stupid of the uncle being a big man with wife and children to get himself into such a problem, the wife now control the boat and is doing very well , people should know when to walk away from trouble.
Justice for my uncle🙌 yall talking but yall don’t know anything typically antiguans yall will say anything
Cookers..servers your self sheep’s
I followed this case right through. I am very surprised there is any guilty verdict at all.
Evidence was that the uncle approached the nephew asking about the $50 owed.
Evidence was that the nephew tried to walk away.
Evidence was that the uncle started beating the nephew.
My question is – How much are we supposed to take before we can claim self defense.
Would love to read the Jury’s report.
Hoping a legal mimd can enlighten me
