A High Court jury on Thursday acquitted a pastor accused of two counts of serious indecency involving a 25-year-old woman during a March 2023 massage session.
The woman, who said the pastor was her mentor, testified that he gave her $400 and took her to an apartment where he allegedly performed sexual acts without her consent.
Days later, she recorded him apologizing and offering to pay for therapy while asking her not to go to the police.
The pastor initially denied wrongdoing but later admitted to sexual activity, claiming it was consensual.

She was vulnerable and he took advantage of her. she is an adult and used her assets to wooed him into giving her money. Probably she didn’t want to have a sexual encounter but was flirting and enjoying the attention. On the other hand Mr.Pastor had one thing on his mind and it was sex. This is what happens when power, religion, and vulnerability mix unchecked. The church needs stricter boundaries and counseling guidelines. “Laying hands” shouldn’t mean anything beyond prayer.

That so-called pastor should be ashamed of himself. Whether or not the jury found him not guilty, his own words on that recording, apologizing and calling the incident “devastating”, says a lot. A man of the cloth should never put himself in a position like that with someone who looked up to him for guidance and spiritual leadership. Even if it were “consensual” as he now claims, he completely abused the trust and authority that came with his role as mentor and pastor. It’s hard to watch cases like this because they reinforce the perception that too many religious leaders hide behind the pulpit while engaging in conduct that destroys faith in the Church. Morality isn’t just about staying out of jail; it’s about accountability, integrity, and protecting the vulnerable. This man failed on all counts, and his congregation, and the victim deserve much better.
Pastor wants to take u to private room and put his hands all over your body and u said yes u can do that….. From the time she gave concent to that she put herself in a spot there…. The gate way was opened for many possibilities… Makes it hard to figure out what really happened…. The jurors had no other choice…..
