Joseph challenges Lovell to name his Cabinet of Ministers

A senior member of the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) is challenging the leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP) to disclose now, the men and women who will sit in his Cabinet of ministers if elected.

Molwyn Joseph was questioning at qualifications of candidates on the UPP team when he addressed a political meeting in Gray’s Farm last night.

He was at the time comparing the ABLP candidates over the UPP candidates.

Joseph said his opponent in St. Mary’s North is “half a man” and boasted of the competence of the current Cabinet of ministers.

“From the UPP only three people are left, they all gone,” he said in reference to former UPP government ministers who are no longer contesting.

“And now Lovell have to go an seek candidates. He went into each constituency and he said if you have two hands, two feet, and two eyes come up even if you don’t have any brain,” Joseph said.

“I want to challenge Harold Lovell tonight to name his cabinet. He has to name his cabinet and present it to the people of Antigua Barbuda,” Joseph insisted.

Earlier in the meeting, Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced that Joseph will be returned as minister for health, the environment, and wellness.

“Tell us who is going to be your finance minister, it cannot be Lovell again. Who is going to be the minister of agriculture, it cannot be Lamin he still finding his thoughts and who is going to be the minister of tourism,” Joseph questioned.

He accused the UPP of not taking Antigua and Barbuda seriously and charged them with being unprepared for the snap poll and having a weak team.

“They are seeking to say to you that they have a talented group of men. No such a thing, no talent here.”

  1. I would like for Lovell to reveal his Shadow Cabinet as well. I want to see if Serpent is correct.

  2. Molwyn, ARE YOU SERIOUS??? MR LOVELL DOESN’T HAVE TO NAME HIS CABINET, WHO THE HE’LL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? YOU SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON YOUR RETIREMENT AFTER THE ELECTION, YOU OF ALL PEOPLE SHOULD SHUT TO HELL UP, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR YOUR CONSISTUASNCY LATELY? LIES, MORE LIES

  3. He won’t bother to waste his time as he knows they will lose big time anyway. He is fighting for his own political life now and likely will have to resign as the leader of his party. Even DNA will win more seats than UPP possibly could. I’m starting to feel sorry for him.

  4. LAMIN NEWTON will be the Agriculture Minister & represent us at international agricultural fora. And he will say he is not prepared, not ready, and fumble and fart and FLAP up he own baxide…much to the chagrin of this country.

  5. Did you expect anything better from Harold Lovell and his cheerleaders they not ready look at it most of the gang from 2014 gone. Baldwin gone Brother B gone John Mangiley gone Jacquie Quinn gone Collin Derrick gone and then he kick out Joanne Massiah and she walk with the remainder so now he scrambling and pick up some strangers who most of Antigua don’t even know.

  6. You have a minister now ARTTHUR NIBBS, WHAT’S HIS CONTRIBUTION? STOP CAPITALIZING ON TREVAL STUFF, HE CAN’T BE WORST THAN WHA A WE HAB NOW, COME BACK & DEAL AGAIN, YOU NEED ANOTHER SHOT OF THE RED KOOLAID. HOW SAD, I HOPE YOU FREEZE YOUR HAM & SPAM FOR AFTER THE ELECTION, IF IT’S BROWN FLUSH IT DOWN

  7. Who really run the ministries?Ministers or Permanent secretaries? As far as I am concerned those men and women are not necessary. Molwyn should know about Samuel looking at the other brothers when God choose Joseph.

  8. We are here to let the Minister of Health know that the so-called Half-man from St Mary’s North will give him a proper run for his life in this election, while he is trying to undermine the young people of this nation. Take it easy Mr. Minister, your days in power are truly numbered. As you can see Sir, our Leaders of Hope from the UPP strongly believe in the youths of Antigua and Barbuda and they will continue to empower them to play their part in advancing our twin-island. That speaks value of them and your criticism is what is called “gutter politic”. Some of you old guards from the ABLP will pass out when you hear that UPP wins this election. Anyway some of our young Doctors are on standby, ready to welcome you on the Hospital Ward. VOTE UPP! HOPE IS COMING!!!

  9. I can’t wait for March 22…. It is gonna be a day like none other… The next minister of Health will be a refreshing breeze… No need for degrees, the team has plenty. Daniel was a mistake, Joseph is an attention seeker with severe memory loss and MaGinley thought private practice and public practice ran alike.

  10. Many will come through the back door. They don’t want to run, but they are in the background wishing and hoping. People like Joan Underwood and others.
