Antiguan sprinter Joella Lloyd missed out on the 60m final at the World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, after finishing fourth in the semi-finals with a time of 7.25 seconds.
Lloyd had impressed in the heats, winning her race in 7.21 seconds, but was unable to match that performance in the semis. The national record holder over 60m (7.13) was Antigua and Barbuda’s sole representative at the championships.

Today I look at your age and realize that you are still fairly young. Guess it is because you are our only sprinter out there representing at that level for so long that I thought you were older. I then looked at Elaine Thompson and Shericka Jackson and at what age they won their first world championship and Olympic gold. They both were older than you when they came through. Jackson at age 27 years.
So with that I will continue to cheer you along and pray that you will stay healthy and be patient. I am now setting my eyes for you to pinnacle at the Atlanta Olympics .
