“Never Eat nor defecate where you learn nor work.”
It Makes no sense accepting the offer out of their evident shame nor pity. They’re embarrassed. Kudos to you Brother hold your head high. There will be better
Respect the ‘challenged’
Good on you. Stand on principle
I am in total agreement with your decision. They turned down your interview , sure bet they gladly accepts money from the differently able. Most likely it is because of the public reaction and support that led to a change of heart.
Of course we live in a Christian society and we should accept meaningful apologies. So you can accept the apology and let them keep their job. Your dignity is worth much more than their Job.
To the owner of Chase supermarket, I hope that you take this as a serious warning. Take this learning experience and put things in place to be more people friendly- All people. I like to see when my black brothers get ahead, so bro I will continue to support your establishment. Just make sure that something like this never ever happens again. Put the policies in place…
I agree with him, You don’t need to work for such people
It should be tht they have to compensate him for at least 3 months of payment..but I guess there’s nothing on the books tht tht kind of disrespect and humiliation…
Still not shopping at Chase…
So nuh sorry would have been there if he didn’t light them up? Continue the protest people!! They are royally full of it!!
Takes a news post for you to offer this man a job? Judging someone off of their disability is wrong.
I would actually decline the offer after such a reject. These people aren’t normal. Don’t worry you will find something better
I guess it was not kept quiet as they expected. So now they want to offer him a position! That’s rich! Scared of a protest. Let’s see what happens if you shop else where.
Something to seriously think about!
Long time people suppose to stop shopping there. These people look down on customers, pure drama and disrespect up there. They belittle you every chance they get. You shop there and its like you’re the one begging them to make money, because everybody moves on their own time. They dont even respect their own employees!!!
@Silent, what does that have to do with how he was treated? SMH
Now we can put this matter to rest. This man was hurt. Who he is doesnt matter.
It doesnt matter who he is. Or whay he did. That supermarket handled the situation badly. At least the supermarket apologized. Let’s move on
He must be in demand to refuse a job offer.
I mean the company did apologize. What more do you want.
I have held many interviews in which the applicant that came first did not passed their probation and then you go to the applicant that came second and see if they are still interested. Sometimes they are sometimes they are not. But nothing wrong inbeing first denied and then months later they come back on their decision. It happens all the time
So are there no laws on the books pertaining to discriminating against the disabled? If not there needs to be. No one should be treated this way.
