A 32-year-old Jennings resident has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing a modified weapon.
Steven Roberts admitted to the charge on March 26 before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel at St. John’s Magistrates’ Court.
Police had searched his home on March 25, discovering a modified nail gun and two 9mm rounds. A female occupant initially charged was released after pleading not guilty.
Roberts received a two-year sentence for the weapon and nine months for the ammunition, to run concurrently.
