Ms. Ariel Derrick, President of the Rotaract Club of Antigua, has been recognised for her exceptional leadership during a challenging yet rewarding year. Derrick was honoured as the driving force behind the club’s numerous impactful initiatives, which culminated in the Rotaract Club winning District Club of the Year for the second consecutive year.
Under her guidance, the club launched the Hometown Heroes initiative, spotlighting unconventional careers, and collaborated with JCI Antigua on the Code Pink and Code Blue projects addressing social issues. The club also delivered the Share the Cheer donation to the CARE Project at Holberton Hospital, supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Further cementing their commitment to social progress, the club introduced Peace Talks in Action, engaging schools in discussions on peace and conflict resolution. Derrick also led the club in celebrating its Charter Week with events that inspired member engagement and strengthened community ties.
Her leadership was celebrated during the Junior Chamber International (JCI) awards ceremony on Sunday, which also honoured ten individuals for outstanding contributions in fields such as journalism, education, and humanitarian work.
