A team including Mr. Dayne Patterson/Brand Performance and Analytics Manager, and Dr. Mordecai Tulloch/Manager of Jamaica Egg Services and the senior layer specialist vet representing the Hi Pro Feeds Company were on island this week. They visited a few farms during Thursday 2nd October and under the auspices of Mr. Allan Osborne/Farmer and Hi Pro Feeds Distributor hosted a meeting with poultry farmers (pacifically the layer producers) at the Multipurpose Centre.
In the past, Hi Pro Feeds through Dr. Tulloch shared information and advice via telephone calls but last Thursday history was made. For the very first time in Antigua the vet was there in the physical and not a telephone call away. “We are extremely fortunate to have the knowledge, expertise and experience of Dr. Mordecai available to us in person, Mr. Osborne informed the attendees.
Mr. Patterson delivered a brief overview of the JB Company and its subsidiaries which included the Hi Pro Feeds. In his discourse some historical information and presence day track records were showcased.
Dr, Tulloch, overseas over 500,000-layer birds for the Hi Pro Feeds Company and his presentation was primarily focused on layer production as this is area of his expertise. Some pointers that were given and demonstrated via mini videos covered Proper construction, cleansing and sanitization of coops, proper feeding/watering, lighting requirements for the birds, and proper management of the poultry farm.
