Jahkaydah Isaac Emerges as Winner of Intense Queen of Carnival Public Speaking Competition

The Enchanted Seven, delegates of the 2023 Queen of Carnival, recently competed in a highly competitive Public Speaking contest at the Maria Holder Resource Centre in Buckleys.

Each delegate delivered a speech on “The Greatest Lesson History Has Taught Me” in two and a half minutes, impressing the distinguished panel of judges with their composure, eloquence, knowledge, and individuality.

Jahkaydah Isaac emerged as the winner of the Public Speaking contest, which was separate from the Queen of Carnival competition. The contest aimed to boost delegates’ confidence and prepare them for the main event.

Brucella Marsh-Sutton, Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized the contest’s importance in fostering personal development for all delegates, regardless of placement.

Marsh-Sutton highlighted the Queen of Carnival Pageant’s empowerment of young women through training and life-changing opportunities.

Isaac expressed her happiness despite initial nervousness, thanking her mother, Donna Francis, and sponsors, Cool and Smooth.

The panel of judges, including Dr. Jacqui Quinn, Shavar Maloney, Amar Spencer-Seyers, Sharon Herbert, and Alicia Knowles, praised the delegates’ outstanding presentations and encouraged them to leverage their experiences for the upcoming Queen of Carnival show.
