REAL NEWS – D.Gisele Isaac, chairman of the United Progressive Party (UPP), says the Antigua Labour Party seems to playing a game of tag with respect to its appointments to the Senate.
Dwayne George received his instrument of appointment as a government senator on Thursday, August 3, during a ceremony at Government House.
But George is also expected to be the Labour Party candidate in the upcoming by-election in St. Mary’s South.
And if, by chance, he is successful, he will have to be replaced in the Senate. Isaac says she does not know what game plan the ALP is deploying, but it sounds like confusion to her.
However, Information Minister Melford Nicholas claims the installation of George – the newest ALP member – is to give him an opportunity to prove himself to constituents.
The Senate seat, he says, will determine whether George is able to accomplish the development of the constituency and the country.
Meanwhile, Isaac says that George’s stint will be short, since he has to tender his resignation from the Senate before Nomination Day.
She adds that the current situation now forces one to wonder whether George will actually be the person contesting the by- At the same time, Isaac says, the so-called promotion of former senator Caleb Gardiner is also shrouded in confusion.
Gardiner, who appears to have been removed from the Upper House simply to accommodate George, is supposed to take up a diplomatic position in Washington, D.C. But he has admitted that he does not know when the assignment will take effect. D.Gisele Isaac, chairman of the United Progressive Party.
According to Isaac, it seems that the Labour Party is being run like the government – on pure confusion.

The facts of the matter are that Dwayne ‘Trojan’ George was put in place to KIBOSH the by-election in St Mary’s South – nothing more and nothing less.
When Kelvin Shugy Simon outsmarted the ABLP by his brilliant resignation move, it not only hurt their chances of retaining SMS; but also made them realise that Samantha Marshall was never going to win, so Prime Minister Browne kicked her out and implemented this current distraction.

The only future is to be a breeding ground for Gaston to pluck off talented people that he doesn’t have or not being attracted to the Labour Party. Isn’t it ironic.
You wish the UPP is done- so why are you eating up yourself. You should not have to state the obvious. They are so done that your leader had to resort to TRICKERY to win the last election by transferring voters to several constituencies to enable his colleagues to win.
If a party is so done and the ABLP has JUST STARTED, why is the ABLP so desperate to win the St Mary’s South constituency seat?
They are so afraid of losing- that’s why they are dragging out the date for the by-election. Shuggy took them by surprise so much so that they cannot catch themselves.

By the way fellow Antiguans, there are now only 61 CONSTITUTIONAL days left for the by-election in St Mary’s South to take place since the Honourable Kelvin Shugy Simon’s resignation on the 6th of June 2023.
Prime Minister Browne, there must be no more delays, dilly dallying or impeding the process, or the constituents may think that you are up to more nefarious trickery – the legal eagles 🦅 🦅 🦅 are watching closely!

Worst yet is the way ABLP members are treated by GB. ABLP use to be a proud organization. They used the term “From the bowels of Labour” , once upon a time to describe their candidates. These days the one man dictator Gastón Buyum is buying candidates.
The rest of ABLP constitution don’t matter to GB. All the MP’s and executive are Lappy dogs. Tanny spoke out against it but will go no further because he is afraid that his paycheck will be taken away. Chet as chairman has no balls and Mary- Clare as the general Secetary don’t even know what she has. The cabinet is run exactly like that- GB decision alone counts.
So the ABLP is headed down a slippery slope. They will get a Royal beating in this By/election and any upcoming elections.
Word to the wise. If someone cheats on you, you can find the strength to forgive them, but you will never find the will to ever fully trust them, so I don’t know what this George guy is thinking by jumping parties, because he will never be trusted by his current party and more so the people of SMS.
The bottom line is that he will be only be used like a tool, because he will never be trusted by anyone, and he certainly won’t win the seat.
