India’s 78th Independence Day was celebrated in Antigua with enthusiasm, as the Honorary Consul of India to Antigua & Barbuda, Mr. Vijay Tewani, and the Indian community appreciated this important occasion.
The event highlighted the strong connections between India and Antigua & Barbuda. A Congratulatory note was sent by Hon. PM Browne to Hon. PM Modi, the Government of India & the Indian people and also Congratulating India‘s South South Cooperation towards SIDS & Climate Change movement showcasing the vibrant culture of the Indian diaspora in the Caribbean region.
Consul Tewani expressed gratitude to the People and Government of Antigua & Barbuda for their continued support and longstanding friendship.

Interestingly enough, both major parties in the US and also at least one in the UK have Indians as major contenders for leadership. Indians may soon be in charge of the free world… I hope things like alternate religions, the caste system and forced sterilization that are allegedly practiced in some places there don’t make it into other countries though. Hopefully only their better practices are inherited.
