The event welcomed participants ranging from ages 7 to 30, all demonstrating remarkable heart, skill and determination on the court.
Organisers noted that the shootout was created to revitalise interest in basketball within the community and to reintroduce regular sporting activity—particularly for children and teens.
The initiative forms part of a broader effort to create positive, engaging spaces for youth development in Rural West.
By encouraging sportsmanship, teamwork and healthy recreation, the organisers hope to inspire a renewed passion for basketball and provide meaningful opportunities for young people to thrive.
Community leaders expressed their commitment to maintaining programmes that uplift and empower the constituency’s youth, emphasising that initiatives like this will continue to be a priority.

A drowning man clutches at straws.
He has lost his midday so he is trying to catch it at midnight.
He is a virtual unknown in the constituency.
Richard Lewis has left him in the dust.
Elections are around the corner.
He wants to make up for lost time.
He can’t wait for school to be on vacation.
He has to act and act now
All be it too late.
So he is working on the vulnerabilities of the rural west parents.
After school they should forget about their children’s home assignments and flock and flood the Gray’s Green Community Center to boost his image.
That’s his way of catching a vote.
Sadly for him birds of a feather flock together.
He is no cleaner than his cabiNOT colleagues who have deprived the very people of Rural West of ECC$15 million which could have greatly enhanced their lives.
Where has he been while Richard Lewis has been laboring in the vineyard?
Where is his tongue and voice to speak out against the massive corruption scheme in the ministries of works and finance?
He can’t speak
Well we do not want him.
Richard Lewis is the man who has shown consistency.
Richard Lewis ALL the way!!!!!!
