NC – Hurricane Lee has officially formed as of 5:00 PM AST on September 6, 2023.
Currently located at 14.9N 46.4W, it’s about 1,130 miles east of the northern Leeward Islands.
Lee is moving at a forward speed of 14 MPH (22 KM/H) in a west-northwest direction.
While it currently has maximum sustained winds of 75 MPH (120 KM/H), it’s anticipated to intensify significantly.
Forecasts suggest it could become an extremely dangerous major hurricane in just a day or two.
At present, there are no coastal watches or warnings, but residents of the northern Leeward Islands should closely monitor the hurricane’s progress for any potential impacts.
