Hit-and-Run Defendant in Limbo as Police Await Evidence in Guadeloupean Fisherman’s Case

6

Katja Geisler, the defendant in a hit-and-run involving Guadeloupean fisherman William Nouy, is still awaiting news on whether police have enough evidence against her, nearly two years after the incident at Falmouth Harbour Marina in June 2022.

Nouy, in Antigua for the annual Sports Fishing Tournament, suffered severe brain injuries and was airlifted to Guadeloupe for treatment.

Geisler was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and leaving the scene. Despite appearing in court, her committal hearing is pending, with police not yet ready to proceed, leaving her fate uncertain.

  1. The Police Force is the biggest joke in Antigua. I say it again Rodney and Cutie must go. Case after case being mishandled. The incompetence or possibly corruption is so transparent. Where is the accountability? Where is the justice? Are we happy and content with the country we have become? Where is the public outrage?
