Chinese Delegation Visits Antigua and Barbuda to Boost Ties

A high-level Chinese delegation arrived in Antigua and Barbuda on Thursday, aiming to strengthen diplomatic and economic relations between China and the Caribbean.

Led by Guo Wenqi, Deputy Secretary in Charge of the Daily Work of the Central and State Organs Working Committee, the seven-member team held talks with Acting Prime Minister Steadroy Benjamin, Foreign Minister E.P. Chet Greene, and Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle.

While details of the discussions remain undisclosed, officials expressed optimism about deepening cooperation.

Ambassador Clarence Pilgrim, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, welcomed the delegation at VC Bird International Airport, reaffirming Antigua’s commitment to strong bilateral ties.

The visit highlights Beijing’s continued interest in the region and could lay the groundwork for future collaboration on development initiatives.

  1. They just coming here to let the Government H**$ they own know that PIMP DADDY CHINA is getting ready to collect YAH BIT***$….

  2. Hey Pringle.. don’t let these people make you swear to any secrets..This Government promised transparency, so the voters have a right to know what were the talks about, period!

When Gatson Browne on their platform blasting UPP, everything is disclosed, but when it comes to matters of money and dealings with things like the Alpha Nero and the Antigua Airways fiasco, all of a sudden, everything is not yet ” Disclosed”.

Remember that the government is the people, not a few men in suits with a title.

It’s time for Antiguan’s to be fed with all these secrets, only to find out later when the shyt hit the fans..Too many backdoor deals being made without the knowledge of the people, too many.

So I hope you Pringle do not fall for this nonsense. That’s why they don’t like Mr Lewis, and Shuggy, because they wouldn’t stand for this foolishness.

  3. Great to see Antigua building stronger international partnerships, this could open up a lot of opportunities for our economy. China has been a reliable partner for many developing nations. Let’s see what fruitful collaborations come from this. A job well done to the government for maintaining strong diplomatic ties. We need more of these visits to boost development. I can give them a 1 for this

  4. Always good to welcome international friends, but let’s not sell our future for short-term gains. We should ensure that whatever partnerships we enter into actually benefit Antiguans first.
